Weird Image Morph Trick in PowerPoint - Turn Yourself into an Animal!

A very weird but cool PowerPoint trick with the Morph transition! Using both vectors and photos, you can morph any image into another using this technique. Enjoy!

Yes, fill from clipboard is SO useful for many things - no need to do "save as picture" first and then fill in. Glad you've discovered it now :). Very cool P-Spice. It made me wonder what happens when you try to morph between two plain ole raster images on two slides. You get a cross fade. So this is technique a really nice discovery :-)

Thanks, Jamie! Yes, it's not too spicy to go between 2 rasters... unless they are the fills for irregularly shaped vectors, as is the case for the dog / cat morph here. I can't wait to see what other interesting possibilities can be done with this. Appreciate the comment :).

I have a vector image of a curved needle with a thread at one end. I want to show it piercing the ear and exiting out from the other side and pulling the thread along with it. I tried using different techniques but finally settled for the morph transition with needles at different positions on different slides. It does finally show the effect which I want but it is not a smooth transition and a bit jerky. Also at the point where the needle enters the ear and exits from behind there is a period where in the needle and thread should ideally not be seen and should be behind the ear. Have not been able to figure out how to do this at all. Any ideas?

Hmmm for the ear, you could duplicate the image of the ear and then line the images over each other. Crop one image to the left of the hole and one to the right. That way, it looks like the needle is going into the ear (it's in front of the first half and behind the second half. It is sort of like this key animation (the key goes into the hole) of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5bFi4qEhZpjsNk

Morph is on 365 the subscription version, which is constantly getting updated with new features. I have it exclusively for morph - I was not too happy to get a subscription at first but morph and the other updates make it worth it. You can get a free trial as well.

Why use AutoTracer, when Inkskape is free, and works better, even without an internet-connection?! It can literally turn absolutely-any image, into a perfect vector-graphic, and you can even choose how many colours it utilizes, too!

When I convert the silhouette into SVG the whole image becomes black rather than getting only the silhouette

Did you make sure that you have at least 2 colors selected on the converter? Sometimes when you have 1, it will all turn black.

You could put them into autotracer.org and make sure they are SVGs then ungroup them in PPT. If your version doesnt' support SVGs, then you can go to cloudconvert and convert it to an EMF and ungroup it that way.

Hi Saqib - morph is only found in the latest versions of PowerPoint - the only way to “add” is to get a free trial of PowerPoint 365 or upgrade your version. You may also like my “wiggly text” video which is more recent and can be done in 2010.

Hi ruby - you could just google free vector images for other sites - there are tons. I really like freepik. Another one could be pixabay or vecteezy - though they are less reliable.

Hi ruby - you need to download the file folder zip and get the EPS file. Then convert this EPS to EMF using cloudconvert (which is a free online tool). Then it should ungroup.

And attribution just means you should mention somewhere that the file you got was from freepik. Even a small text of this in the bottom corner of the slide works.
