Hey I have a quick art question. Why do people draw with different colored pencils like a light blue or red and then go over it? I've always wanted to know since I'm trying to broaden my art skills past what I usually do.
@shiny98366 ай бұрын
this was the first video by dina that i watched. through her, i got back into watercolor after years away from it. i looked through the description of this video and bought the pencil she sketched this in. i started sketching in eraseable colored pencil after looking at her other work. dina changed the way i paint. 5 years later, i still see the inspiration i took from this series in my style. every time i paint fish, i look at the way she drew fins. my heart still gets caught in my throat. i remember following her on instagram while this series of mermay illustrations were still coming out. she made me want to try pole dancing as a form of exercise. watching her progress was inspiring. the day that the news of her passing was posted, for whatever reason, the first thing i thought of was that i'd never see her posting her progress on the pole again. i never got around to trying it. rest in peace, dina. i can't imagine the turmoil your family went through after your passing. i still think about your work. i hope it means something that you live on through the art and audience you left behind. you inspired me

Timber wolf, axolotl, orchid mantis (if you count insects), husky dog, sloth, sea horse, blue dragon blaucus, okapi, dumbo octopus, lorises, pudu fawn, ant eater, mole, pangolin, armadillo, coati, zebra duiker, and hedge hog.

22:00 i really like the black around him, but it would've been soooo cool if you filled what is currently blank with dark blues so that it looked like an ocean!! Like, really dark blues and some dark green/purples that just melted into the black. It would've tied in with the color palette of his skin/shells(?) too!

My dad used to have this fish but just the normal one, not albino. Grown so big that it could barely swim in the aquarium. So everyone was telling him to sell it, cause an adult one is so expensive, the bigger and longer it is. But in the end, he just released it in the river instead lol

Your clean outlines with the pencil really make me smile, it's so satisfying to watch. I always catch myself drawing the sketch too dark so that the outlines can't stand out very much. I need to improve on that. Thanks for the video! 💙

I like the fin 'hair' but the more human hair seem more like the right thing, imo. because of, like, The Little Mermaid story (the original on not Disney's) cause the sisters cut their long hair for the knife.
