Right, ordered my sidas insoles and socks. High arches and battered toes so hoping these will help!

Thats an interesting sock, I wonder how they will compare to the injinji toe sock which I like using on a run.

I used them yday TC and they did feel comfy, and the separation of the bug toe did make me feel more aware of it so perhaps then more propulsive as a knock on effect... I'll keep you posted...

Thanks for introducing me to this brand! I will have to watch for the hoof socks next year when they come out. I have to wear a toe separator when going about my day to better align my big toe. It angles in due to bunions and my bone structure, leading me to push off my mid toes and under utilize my big toe. It’s been recommended that I wear toe socks when I run but honestly they can be time consuming to get on and off and I get lazy. These hoof socks may be the ticket!

I thought that Sidas makes only insoles. The socks are interesting. I like toe socks for longer distances, I'll give these a try :)

Yes I didn't realise they make socks either. I'm wearing them now and really like them!

I'm quite interested in how these insoles compare to custom orthotic ones. I have custom at the moment, but they are wearing out and I'm baulking at the cost of new ones.

You could always give them a go Richard, but it might also be worth seeing a podiatrist like Nick Knight who can prescribe strength exercises, depending on your issues though of course.

I have high arches and I'm outright allergic to the feel of anything pushing onto them from underneath. And I've never understood why "supporting" the arch is supposed to be a good thing in any case. The arch wasn't designed to bear weight and surely making it do so would only weaken the arch muscles and tendons? Not convinced by this at all

This is exactly that I think too, an arch is one of the strongest shapes! You might enjoy this film about the myth of over-pronation by podiatrist Nick Knight who thinks we should strengthen our feet rather than prop them up with insoles. kzbin.infobUerYjf5JfY I agree with Nick, but having heard that our channel coach Tim Pigott and pro Tom Evans both consider foot comfort in terms of the 'shoe, sock, insole' system as a whole I decided to ask Sidas for some to try. Having used these, for me they are more for comfort, filling the shoe up a bit more (I have low volume feet) and also they grip the sock better than some of the provided insoles in the shoes. I noticed slippage when I put the original insoles back into my current fave shoes and I now prefer them with the grip of the Sidas insoles now so I'm going to use them on my Lakeland 50 race at the end of July.
