Fast Trains At Rare Railroad Crossing, Double DPUs Working Hard, Abandoned House By Railroad, Abandoned Bridge Over Railroad & Union Pacific Railroad Locomotives On Norfolk Southern Railroad! This video includes 5 trains north of Lexington, Kentucky near Corinth, Kentucky on the Norfolk Southern Rat Hole Line. Major train horn action!
The train horn salutes were due to railroad maintenance of way equipment doing work along the main line. Have you ever seen a railroad crossing like this? The crossing is cross buck protected along with a single bell on one of the cross buck posts! I did a video last year with another crossing exactly like this one. The crossing also has a shanty for the electrical equipment and an electric meter. I believe the road was relocated here to the west side of the tracks and that contributed to this crossing being converted to only a bell. The crossing is only for a small dead end road now instead of a busier road that is now on the west side of the tracks. Check out the train with the 2 DPU units in the middle that crosses here! That was the second train.
The third train is seen going under an abandoned road bridge. The road dead ends here now out in the middle of nowhere. This train is a steel coils train with a DPU on the rear.
My internet went out again and now I have to retype everything past this point. @%&$#
It went something like this. I saw an abandoned house on the hill, got curious, blah, blah, blah. I am not retyping all of that since hardly anyone reads this crap anyway.
An oil train and a double stack intermodal went by . Yipty do
I really do have a huge disdain for computers. I like trains but I don't like working on computers. Since I started my channel I have gone through about a half dozen of them. I just bought another one and this is the last one that I will ever buy no matter what. I got the best one that Best Buy had. It took over a month for it to arrive. I told the girl there that I don't want to hear about any special deals and I will leave if she talked about any specials. Okay, that's it. Here's the video recorded north of Lexington, Kentucky near Corinth.
Filmed Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

Looks like a private driveway or crossing into a private field. Most don’t have lights or rr crossing but the train 🚂 horn blows at any crossing like that, they even blow the train horn when there’s known hiking trails nearby.

Very nice video 👏🏻👏🏻. Here in India more than 80 percent of tracks has been electrified. Diesel locomotives are now secondary. I’m a bit surprised to see US still opting for diesel locos. Yeah but I love the beautiful livery of locomotives in your video. 👍
@cp368productions2
@cp368productions2 Жыл бұрын
Electric locomotives just aren't cost effective for this country. They are fine on the NEC but for them to replace diesels you have to string catenary above every single track and that is just not workable. There are a couple electrified railroads but most electrified lines were shut off decades ago because their maintenance cost was too much.

If it's old rare obscure you can be assured JT is on the prowl and will track it down. Those Tate & Lyle \ STLX grain trains have become a weekly feature because of the area you travel. Great mixed frt and the 3 GRY Gary RR gons still in EJ&E paint and numbers still in good shape after 42 years. Luckily they have hauled nothing but coiled steel their entire life so they're not all banged up. Add in the heavy duty NS steel train hammering out the miles then toss in an ethanol train and finish it off with the container train. Judging by the brush cutting and the fresh gravel and the grading a drainage\culvert project is underway to ease washout potential in the curve. (Does not include the Port-O-Potty)

That was cool indeed! The former DL&W/Conrail Groveland secondary had a group of bell only crossings with 18” GRS gongs. Those were seriously cool. One of them now is used by a nearby high school to start and stop wrestling matches in the classic manner. Another is in a collection and is wired to a cross buck activated by a pneumatic circuit- no electricity needed! WOO!😎
