And honestly, the Utilidor tunnels, are actually Really Creepy!! I got the opportunity to work in Magic Kingdom during the Summer of 2017, I'm their janitorial department which meant that mostly I was doing sweeping, emptying trash bins & cleaning/ restocking the bathrooms as needed. My shifts were generally Friday thru Sunday Evenings from like 3 o'clock in the afternoon to park close so somewhere between 10 pm & Midnight, and my assigned service area was Main Street U.S.A, from Train Station to Castle, we were also responsible for crowd control all around that area during the fireworks presentations, so I spent quite a bit of time traversing throughout those Utilidors, and later at night when most of the cast has gone home for the night, before the overnight crew has gotten there to begin their shifts, and the Utilidors are almost empty, which unless the parks are outright closed for a weather day, they're Never Completely Empty, but when things slow down in there towards the end of the night, you hear noises that kinda just don't make sense, so my mind would start running away on me a little bit, and it was Real Easy to start feeling like I was being watched or followed, and I'm not normally one to be sensitive to or freaked out by the possibility of paranormal or little ghoulies or ghosties running around, although I've never truly experienced or seen anything directly, that I would attribute to the paranormal realm, in the Utilidors or anywhere else for that matter, but I Am Convinced That The Magic Kingdom Utilidors Are Haunted!! And maybe not just by past Disney Castmembers or employees either. I know that before they became Disney Property, much of the land they sit on in FL was citrus growing property, but before the citrus growers got hold of thar land I'm pretty sure most if not all of it was Narive American land, The Seminole Tribe & whatnot, and I feel That energy is still attached to those lands as well.

Also, the Liberty Tree that was selected was 100 years old and weighed around 38 tons! It was also originally 8 miles away from where it’s located today (the east side of the property) and they had to insert metal rods into the trunk to move it because of its weight. The final touch was hanging 13 lanterns from its branches to represent the 13 original colonies. Yup… the Liberty Square tree is something else!

I worked at Disneyland, for about 9 years and have been a guest for 60 years, I would see cast members going from one side of the park to the other, while in out of place costumes. It takes away from the magic. Thank you Justin.

Hey Justin! Great video. I love the Osh Popham reference too. One thought/note to explore on the flags. I noticed the flags missing stars too. But I assumed it had to do with the time period. These appear to be the 1896 or 1907 flags when we only had 45 or 46 states which would have been the flag when Walt was a kid, or when Main Street’s time/space universe takes place. Could be fun to find out the truth. Cheers, matey.

@charlesriggs80849 ай бұрын
I am a former castmember, and my favorite " wierd fun facts" about Walt Disney World in Florida are #1 Along with the utildoor tunnels being the 1st floor..the dirt covering them came from the dig site of the 7 seas lagoon #2 As the 7 seas lagoon is man-made it was purposely dug a bit shallow so that the ferry boats can't fully sink underwater.

I'm a little surprised that they didn't just illuminate those flags, since the flag code allows them to remain up even at night as long as they're lit by a lamp specifically for the purpose of lighting the flag. Granted, they'd still have to be replaced if damaged or dirty, and during rain they'd still have to come down. But the "pennant" loophole during inclement weather feels like something most people wouldn't be aware of. If I saw those still up while it's raining I'd think they were violating flag code (even if they technically aren't). Edit: I just counted, and you're absolutely right, that one flag only had 48 stars. The second one you showed, however, had 50 stars and 13 stripes, so that was an accurate flag.

The rumor about the trash cans may have originated from the Kingdom Keepers book series by Ridley Pearson. If I recall, Pearson incorrectly describes the AVAC system as being connected to all the trash cans. He also incorrectly describes the plot of Fantasmic as including Chernabog turning into a dragon (not Maleficent). There’s some weird stuff in those books.

There’s a secret bathroom located in Liberty Square. I don’t believe it was ever meant for public use and think it was entirely for cast member use only. I worked in Magic Kingdom on the College Program in 2016. Actually saw you in the park one day Justin, but I was too nervous to say hello! Anyways - I normally worked in Adventureland in Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace. But I was cross trained to Liberty Square. Worked Sleepy Hollow and The Market. There weren’t any bathrooms super close by backstage, so I learnt about a bathroom just inside the exit of the Hall of Presidents. Fairly certain the door is marked Cast members Only, but I’m sure we can still claim the myth of no bathrooms in LS busted. :P Also. Can confirm Utilidors exist and they stretch underneath on west side to just behind Aloha Isle. Can at least confirm that.

I want some kind of 2000 leages in tomorrowland. The original concept of tommorowland being more fact based may have issues,but a retro science fantasy concept of the generic future that never was based on mankinds hopes and dreams has legs. That's why we like buzz lightyears spin. And the people mover. And the monorail. Id move autopia/speedway to either fronteirland or adventure land. ( Antique cars, route 66, car safaris around the world or out west, lots of other themes it could have.) Id put in a robot Olympics or robot wars areana show. Maybe a spoof of the old innoventions atraction. And the house of the futre can come back but with a grain of nostalgic salt . Also you could rebuild horizons in tomorrowland.

Exactly Justin!! I worked those trash cans all that summer, (2017), and I Can Fully Attest That There Is NO Suction System Connected To Any Of Them, As That Would Have Made That Job That Summer Sooooooo Much Easier, For Me & Everybody Else I Was Working With There That Year!! Now if the Disney parks were being built today with 2020's technology in place it's possible that the brains behind the original AVAC System might now be able to come up with an automated suction system where the trash there Does get instantly whisked away to somewhere else directly from the trashcan point itself, but if they came up with tge technology for it now, I think it would take too much money and physical destruction to the already existing infrastructure to retrofit it into what's already there, and working fairly well, I would say, maybe not perfectly, but Heaven is the world for perfect, not Earth.
