There is actually one part of good part in this game, even if it’s very unintentional. The segment where you have to cook and eat noodles right in front of your dad was oddly uncomfortable. The fact that not a single word was said between you and your life long parent. Not even asking “How was your day?”. Even if it was just for a minute, it actually an unnerving moment. I would personally love to see a concept like this put into a better, more fleshed game. The effect only happens if your playing alone tho. Too bad that the game immediately follows this up with “THE PORCH BOOGEYMAN IS GOING TO BRAINWASH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY” right after your dad walks outside.

This game reminds me of those "story" tycoon games like "making memes in your basement at 3am" or "get cancelled tycoon" which seems to mostly be made by the group Badass experiences because of the trash model and the seemingly quick pumped out factory feeling of those games as they tend to have very similar plots and gameplay formula as another.

I think Weird Strict Dad is meant to just be a chaotic horror game that borrows elements from Residence Massacre, but I think it would definitely be interesting if it spoke on issues such as domestic abuse and gaslighting in a palatable, subtle way. The game could've very easily expanded upon how the dad automatically went about trying to hurt his child when he got possessed, and how he partially dismissed it the next morning.

A problem with the intro scene is that everyone has the same tasks. It would be okay if it told you the story through this system of tasks, but only if everyone could choose what to do, split up, whatever. And even logic wise, if you were a dad with 5 kids you would most definetly make them do different chores after returning home in the evening.

Alright, alright. You must have NOT played the new Residence Massacre Halloween update, which made the game MUCH more fun. You can skip the day section ENTIRELY if you finish all your tasks. Also, There’s now Halloween badges and hats, you can see better in the camera with a flash button,(even though it should scare the monster..) and on top of that, some badges REALLY change your gameplay. For one of the badges, you can awaken zombies to make the night harder, but you’ll have to do this with friends bc it sucks when you’re alone. And for the other badge, you can survive until 3AM to join another FNAF-like experience where you sometimes hide from the monster while managing your sanity until the time ends. Go play this new update and experience some of these things for yourself!

Like it wasn't that horrible. That dad has 2 types of waking up. One is silent and more rare than the notifying one. In the notifying, you receive a task that tells you to go to sleep, and in silent, you have no tasks, your dad just wakes up and walks around the house. He can go in the hallway, in the bathroom, in the kitchen and just wake up and stay in the living room. Imagine going to the kitchen just to see that dad is nowhere to be found, and on the way back he jumps out of your room killing you. Cams are here to prevent stuff like that from happening.

Honestly the game could have been interesting if it did what the name hinted at, a game about an abusive dad. Hell, you could still add the possesion aspect just add some sort of twist to it at least, like maybe the kid just thinks the dad is possesed as a coping mechanism or even the dad wasn't possessed the whole time and was just abusive the whole time and even the weird setting could have hinted at that, with the old roblox style turning into the mesh-like style overtime as you realize the truth, like a sort of jim's computer type of game. But nope, we don't get anything creative or even at least good. it's just a ripoff that plays poorly. Honestly it feels even offensive in a way cuz it's taking a serious topic and turning into a residence massacre rip-off. Like, if you're gonna make a rip-off at the very least dont take a serious topic like abuse and use that if it's gonna be so bad.

Played that game yesterday. The intro gave me 2018 story games vibes, where you explore the 4 meters square map for 5 MINUTES. This was already a bad sign, and it got worse. After the stupid intro and the awful cutscene with the dad, I got killed WHILE I was FALLING ASLEEP. LIKE I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE BUT I STILL GOT KILLED. Yo breadian, please check out left 4 blox. Like your typical zombie game, its a wave based survival that is retro styled, similar to the undead coming. This may sound like a recipe for disaster, but its actually one of the more balanced zombie games. For once you can only spawn as a special infected and dont have to suffer as a normal. Another thing is that survivors cannot sprint, letting most zombies catch up to them with ease. Another thing that separates it from normal zombie games are that the zombie and human teams are actually equal in numbers at the start of the match instead of only having 1 zombie spawn. And finally, loadouts are randomised, so theres no demoralising grind. Its basically left 4 dead versus but with 4x the server size. Survivors may be tough with all their weaponry but One mistake, and youre being pinned by a smoker
