I like that the Jokaero and Daemonhost have official 10th edition rules, I really wanna make a full squad of Inquisitorial Agents and include both of those - for the Daemonhost I'm planning on combining a Penitent Engine with the tracks from a battle servitor, so basically this imprisoned daemon being wheeled around the place.

I think GW should produce a Rogue Trader line of upgrade kits for 40k and Heresy. The new MkIII helms would fit perfectly into that range and we could have kept the old classic ones simultaneously.

Ambulls and other such things would work with Exodites. Like they did in a short story. They corralled a buttload of dinos and took down an Imperator and a couple Warlords and a few other titans. Mechanicus couldn't even recover them.

I have an entire Legion army in a box in my garage, I used to main them eons ago. It's mostly original minis from GW with some repairs to some and kitbashes for additional units. One of these day's I'll either dust them off and fix them up or sell them.

With the unaligned units, roll a d4 and a d6 to get the co-ordinates to know where they're going to appear then they just attack whatever is closest each turn. Would be great :D

The drones did have 9th Edition rules. They were Warhammer Community articles and you can see them from Wahapedia. But I have both and love using them at random in 40k with my Votann. And I house rule them for Kill Team.

Ambulls wouldn't be a bad proxy for a krootox, assuming it could fit on the base size at least

Ambull is a bit too big to work as a Krootox, it's on a 50mm base, and takes up a lot of it. Unless you use the old metal version, that one is actually about krootox size, but arguably harder to get ahold of than the Black Fortress Ambull.

Also Repressor has Firing Deck 6, thats is sooo good. Dump a retributor squad and Junith as a single character and you can have a tank with 2 twin linked heavy flamers, 1 from the tank and the other from Junith, 5 ministorum heavy flamers and 1 hand flamer from the superior. Is it it flamer overkill? maybe but its the sisters so probably still not enough flamers.

I want the old creature features and forgotten hive fleets to come back. They were mostly kitbashes and homebrewed by the GW staff in 2008ish but they were frigging cool. Imagine smacking down a croatalid or a zoat on the table for your enemies to fight.

One of the things that I'd love to see make a return is the "Heroes of the Imperium." That was a very interesting way to create some relatively unique forces and add some unity between the Imperial factions at the time. Having a force that's an Inquisitor with an assassin as part of his retinue that teamed up with a portion of a force of Space Marines in pursuit of a Chaos warband or xenos infiltrator. Imperial Agents is similar, but not quite the same thing as Heroes used to be.

Weirdly the imperial space marine is usable in horus heresy since there are legion seeker sergeants which can take combi-disintegrators. Kind of a very gimmicky unit which relies of rolling very luckily to get a sniping hit on an enemy HQ in the hopes you kill the HQ in a single hit. Still for a 10 point upgrade, it is a very fun one to take

Yup, everything in Blackstone Fortress had 40k rules. I think the rules were included in the game and expansion packs with the models.

I love the Spindle Drones. They're little freaks, and I run them in my Nids. My biggest issue with Legends/Forgeworld models is bc they're discontinued, they're super hard to find and are just super expensive.

I'm super excited to use UR-025 and X-101 for my Mechanicus army! They seem like the IDEAL cheap objective holders, allowing my main force to do things. Meanwhile, my opponent has to choose to dedicate some of their proper units to holding stuff.

It's funny you mention it, as in Boltgun, there are some Ambuls rocking about and will attack you or the chaos forces in proximity. I one time rocked up on it fighting several chaos marines.

7:29 - The old, pewter/lead Ambull was never part of 2nd Edition. The creature was introduced in the Rogue Trader (1st ED) 1987 rule book, as an entry in the alien bestiary.

The Guardian/Spindle Drones *did* have rules. Blackstone Fortress (and I believe the expansions too) came with datasheets for 8th or 9th edition, depending on when they came out

I want the rules for the Ork character Wazdakka Gutzmek to make a comeback. One of my favorite characters of all time in the game and GW never even made an official model for him. For those who might not be familiar, he was a Mekboy/boss who wore Mega Armor, yet still rode a rather large and reinforced custom Warbike that was armed with the Battlecannon looted from a Leman Russ and a pair of Autocannons. They had fun special rules for him where the model knocked itself backwards from the recoil of the cannon firing and could go out of control if one of the Autocannons jammed (similar to the normal warbikes of the time since they were mounted with one on either side of the bike).

Ideas on how to implement Ambulls into armies: Tyranids - Give them a similar colour scheme to your tyranid army with maybe a few adjustments to make them look more tyranidy. Orks - Grab a Kruelboyz sludgeraker rider from the age of sigmar and slap it onto the Ambulls back

I could see GW bringing back Legion of the Damned as an Imperial Agent unit. Something you can take in any Imperial army list, as they appear from the warp to aid the armies of man.

Imperium Magazine (a partswork magazine) issue #5 came with a Primaris Captain that has never had a legal wargear loadout (plasma pistol and master crafted power sword). Arbites can _STILL_ be run as an army faction. GW has explicitly said you can do so in a recent warcom article. Not a very effective army (they won't have an army rule), but can be done. I've got a 3d-printed 1000 point Arbites army.

The Griffon Heavy Mortar has never got much love but did get a lot of ammo options in Imperial Armour; I feel like they could sell it as a concept if it came with several of them stock and was pitched as a flexible payload delivery system

I could very much see taking the Ambulls in an Ork army and then just having the squig herder drive the at the enemy, not saying it would be effective but it would at least be thematic. Also the guardian and spindle drones remind me of the bio-mechanical servitors of the Sloth (in that they are weird bio-mechanical tripods rather than being close to the old art).

legion of the damned could have a mechanic based in their lore where any space marine chapter can carry them, but can only deploy them at a specific time. Let say, at the start of each turn you get to roll a d20 and if you roll a 20 you can deploy them. for every 10 points you lose, you number increases by 1. so after losing 10 points, you can deploy on a 19 or 20 and after 20 points an 18, 19, or 20. once you deploy them you can place the unit anywhere you want, as in the lore they arrive to turn the tide of battle at a critical moment, seemingly being able to see the future and know exactly where they need to be.

There are 3rd party kits from places like Kromlech that let you convert a Rhino into a repressor. One day I fully plan to add one to my army. It's just so cool, and it's not hard to just say, "Okay, I'll run this as a rhino" if an opponent's really particular about Legends.

Just to let you know both the guardians and spindle drones had rules for 40k in 8th. I played a spindle drone 500pt army. They were actually pretty good except I had to ignore one rule on their profile. You could only include 1 spindle drone unit in your army. When the guardian drones entire purpose is buffing units of spindle drones only being able to take 1 unit of spindle drones made them not viable at any tournament.

I think that with legion of the dammed you could have it be so that it costs let’s say 5 com and points and then you can drop in 1 or 2 units of the legion of the dammed anywhere on the board e.g. (right behind the your opponent). However this would be for one turn only and would only be able to happen towards the end of a battle. So it might just give you a chance of wining the game which once seemed hopeless
