Just found you. Really like these exercises. I am a singer and coach but also suffered some damage from intubation and feel these will help. Subscribing. Thanks.

I'm so glad you like these... I'd love to know how you do with them. Btw, my own vocal cords fully recovered from intubation damage some decades ago. Here's the story: judyrodman.com/how-my-damaged-voice-came-back/ Patience is, of course, vital, but be encouraged... healing can happen, especially when we take excessive breath pressure off. Please keep in touch!

@JudyRodmanvoice Thank you so much. You have an incredible story, and I'm so grateful you shared it. I have been and will continue to attempt to re train my voice, but you've given me hope that it can/will still heal. Thank you.

“Doesn’t matter how high” I have a low voice for a female and most coaches treat you like an alto when you’re a contralto. The PULL helps. As well as the first statement. SO MUCH. I have pushed my voice my voice to match others tone thinking I was matching their pitch. Learning to sing often an octave lower and accepting that is my high has been difficult. I’m still learning so I may be explaining this wrong. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have a head voice because I compare it to others. I know tension prevents me at times, but my head voice is lower than other females I think.

Most important: When it feels better, it sounds better, and you're on the right track. When you're confused about vocal techniques, choose to do what feels better!

I did notice an expansion across all vowels in the back of my nasopharynx when the exercise went to singing, and it was much easier to slide past breaks---thank you! I have always found slides to be the best warm-up; funny it never occurred to me to do them with vowel work! I always did the vowels with scales, the traditional way (and hated it--it always seemed to increase vocal strain instead of help it, ugh!) I will be practicing your way from now on. ❤😊

@mariebellnero5858 ай бұрын
i ask you a question about my song
@JudyRodmanvoice8 ай бұрын
Hello Marie... I checked your video 'Be My Help' out and yes, you're in a mixed belt and then you go up into head voice for some scatting. If you want to sing easier and with less vocal fatigue, my suggestion is for you to back off the air pressure you're applying to your cords and allow a little more head register involvement in your middle voice mix . I know it sounds complicated, but when you 'pull' a belt sound instead of 'push' it, your voice feels AND sounds better. Check out this video to learn how singing at the wall can help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4Lbh52Hn9BqgNU

There's latency between the video and the audio
@JudyRodmanvoice8 ай бұрын
It's an odd thing that we can upload a video that is synced perfectly, and then some days the audio shifts in relationship to the video. Not sure why this happens, but I do hope you can benefit from trying to disregard the latency. Maybe an internet variable from weather, etc. Frustrating!

These are strange, and you can always try a vocal lesson for help with them. But I will tell you... whatever you do, if it makes your voice feel and sound better, you're on the right track!
