We are discovering more about this crazy guy every video.

The traditional ‘professional mourners’ were ideally beautiful women who would cry and keen in grief because men were not permitted to express such emotion. These women wailed for them at the loss of the mother, wife, daughter, etc. The women also helped comfort and entertain the grieving family. I’m sure it has changed today, but I don’t know if it’s really changed enough that now it’s someone hired by the deceased to fool his friends and family into thinking a beautiful woman mourns his death.

Funerals in non-Western cultures tend to be large affairs and professional mourners are pretty common. Some cultures just have a bunch of old ladies who love to go to funerals and be dramatic, but they’re not professionals who charge; they’re usually the elder women in the community

I once read of an interesting job a woman had at Kodak? I think you mentioned them a time or two on this channel. :-) Her job was to be the human skin test to make sure their film was recreating flesh tones correctly. In my hometown, Medical U. of South Carolina ran a M/J-clinical study. Phase one required smokers to agree to a wash-out period in order to test M/J-negative for a contact-high study. O.S.H.A. wanted to see if introducing weed through ventilation would cause Clean/Before-Dirty/Afterword drug tests. They wanted to either prove or disprove that a hypothetical company's employee, testing positive for M/J, would be lying in claiming being at a concert/party where the air was thick with second-hand weed smoke and did not intentionally consume the stuff.

While in rehab a long while ago my buddy got in trouble for testing positive for weed, but he’d been in for 3-4 weeks & definitely hadn’t smoked. I had a friend that had started working out & tested pos for weed after years being clean bc THC is stored in fat cells; when he started burning those old fat cells it’s came out in u/a. That’s a study I’d love to read.

@@EMurph42 I heard recently that one non-12-Steps-based rehab program, focused on coke, meth and opioids, allowed a select control group to take THC in non-smoking form (edible or Marinol pill) after the day's classes and before the dinner period. They wanted to assess if weed triggered or curtailed cravings for the hard stuff. As rejecting the old AA/NA 12-Steps method, increasingly loosing traction with recovery specialists, they were somewhat biased against the AA/NA precept that dabbling in marijuana after recovering from booze or coke would compromise sobriety enough to lead you back to the "drug of choice". Well I COULD tell you that's BULLSHIT. After recovering from cocaine in the 90s, I've been smoking like a highschool idiot in my pre-cocaine-idiot days, provided my "job" of teaching guitar and bass students is done for the day. Not once since 2002 have I considered scoring some Bolivian Booger Sugar.
