In ancient India, chopping off the nose or ear were punishments. These people had to live their lives as branded criminals because everyone who saw them would know. Of course if they became rich, the first thing they would want to do is reconstructive surgery. Sushruta was one of the experts at reconstructive surgery.

Long one 1. That toe rings are not actually wedding rings worn on toes. We do have wedding and engagement rings worn on fingers but toe rings are different concept. 2. Trains are not everywhere like this, only where population is more mainly in Mumbai. We have a train called Sachkhand which serves Langar for everyone as a service by Gurudwara showing the generosity and love of Sikhs. That's different and nice, that could be on the list. Packed trains are in china japan amd korea too. 3. Ji has several meanings, Ji means yes. Ji means Yes? Wives call their husbands as Ji. Ji means sarcastic No. Ji means Hey! Etc 4. Mother promise is the strongest promise. True. ❤️ If anyone breaks it they will lose their mother. And everyone hate that person who break that promise. People get angry if they are asked to do a mother promise for petty non sense things or as a joke. And they're the same people who say cuss words based on a mother a 100 times a day. That's weird. 5. Girls with an elevated nose like you showed in that photoshopped image are considered KAREN. the term used is NAKCHADHI that translates to elevated nosed girl. 6. You're pronunciation of hindi words is near to perfect. Even the narrator called Lakshman as LAXMAN as in legs man. NO, you pronounced it right in your second attempt. 7. Champu is not massage. Champi is massage. Champi was done with too much oil so a person who applies too much oil is called Champu as a part of making fun of him. 8. That black faced monkey is Langoor. We usually have Macaw Monkeys spread all over India who feel free to roam around and eat our food lying outside like wheat maize chips etc. Wherever there are a lot of monkeys at a residential place someone leaves a Langoor at that place. Monkeys are scared of Langoors so they flee. 10. This is too much i think i am losing count.

"Bollywood" is still used to describe the whole Indian film industry! But the output of at least 1200 films is the total of the films coming out from Tollywood, Kollywood, and a lot of other industries!

Did you know that a lot of words for what you wear come from India? Here are some; 1. Pant- This is short for Pantaloon which was British mispronunciation of the Indian word, Patloon. 2. Bandana - This would be spelt similarly in India, but the English changed the pronunciation. 3. Cummerbund : Even the British pronounce it correctly. This word is simply Hindi for “Waist Tie” 4. Pajama : The Indian word is Payjama which literally mean Legwear. 5. Jodhpurs: That’s the English word for a Jacket that closes tight around the neck. The British saw the kings of Jodhpur wearing them hence the name. In India however these are known as Band Gala which literally translates as Closed Neck. 6. Khaki: When the British ruled India, they standardized of Tan colored uniforms for the police and the armed forces. This color is called Khaki in Hindi. The color was a good comoflage in the dusty plains of India. These uniforms were extensively used by British troops all over the world and you may have seen them in any WWI and WWII movie. They were all made in India. The fabric they used for the uniforms were cotton with a unique weave patentented in Britain as the Gaberdine weave. In India, we used to refer to the fabric as Gaberdine, since it was available in other colors too. But somehow westerners started calling anything made of Gaberdine as Khaki which in India we find quite odd. How can a blue trouser be called Khaki (Tan)?

Sushruta is accepted as father of surgery world wide. He was able to operate complex and challenging surgeries like brain (neuro), heart(cardio), eye, lungs, liver, intestines, broken bones, surgeries and all other major surgeries. And the most amazing fact is that how western world came to know about him and his books. A Russian traveler Cum scientist once visited India almost around in 16 century, he saw that a man whose nose was cutted from upward to downward direction and it is still hanging through skin. An Indian potter who was having knowledge of Rhenoplasty operated a surgery on him and fixed his nose and that nose was absolutely on correct possition and that person was alive. That Russian scientist viewed that whole surgery and mentioned about it in a science or medical journal. The Name of Rhenoplasty was also given by Russians. They told the world that in India even a simple potter is able to do such a complex surgery within less time. 🙏🙏

Most Indian traditions will seem weird at first. Because the meaning behind them has been lost. Take for example most Indian Gods/Goddesses have an animal associated with them like Shiva and Nandi or Durga and Tigers/Lions. The idea behind this was preservation. Most Indians believe in wearing gem stones, the idea behind them is medical, vibrations from crystals cause brain and other glands to function properly. Maanglic is a term used for matching marriage alliances. The time when this was put into action was a time when child marriages were prevalent in society, and the child mortality rate was high, meaning the person who you get married to may not live long enough to birth the next generation. How do you then decide who to get married to? The answer was sought in astrology. As per Hindu text the effect of being mangalic seizes to exist once you cross the age of 28. There are many more... but you have to see it through the eyes of the people who lived on those times to make sense of it... they are or rather were more practical than you would imagine...

Indi, like you I'm a big fan of India. It seems like the Guy who did the Report in the video about India's train system is a Western Stereotype. Yes, the Indians know that they need to upgrade their rail system and they're working hard to do it. Last year, they launched "Train 18' which is the first Modern train that's 100% Indian technology. They're also working on the upcoming Bullet Train Project. Just last week, they launched the design of a new train designed with Canada's Bombardier. They've also been building new underground subways which are World Class. It's wrong for Westerners to paint a picture that Indians hang out of trains as if it were some poor, "Third World" country. A lot of the new infrastructure in India is better than the United States. Anyway, keep up your good work about India. Like you I hope to visit India in the future...

The yaar, the -Ji at the end of a name are confined to the north of India, mostly in the Hindi speaking majority. The toe ring is called "metti" in Tamil, Sushruta did the first eye surgery as well, for cataract. They were wrong about India producing the most films, surprisingly Nigeria pumps out more lol. Also, I think Bright side knew the Indian market for views and just found whatever they could squish in to make a list. because I've heard of the same shampoo thing twice before in their channel.

1652 language are officially recognised by Indian Government 880 are major one. And unofficially almost 2000 language are spoken by people of India.... (Edited)--> Bollywood produced only 600-700 flim every year. It's Indian film industry which produced 2000 film in 2019. Because bollywood is not only Indian film industry. It's India's no 1 film industry. But that's not mean it's only Indian film industry.....

trains in india are not always like this but yes when some huge gathering occurs during any fest like Kumbh mela it gets really problematic to get inside the train i never do that though once i travelled 5 hours standing or 2 inch line of seat. but all else it stays cool people can sit and travel. in my view trains are safe if you are using 3rd, 2nd, 1st class AC as you will be given privacy and everything will be fine. but i would not recommend general class cause it is very problematic to travel long distance in it.

*What is special about being a Hindu?* 1) Believe in God ! - Aastik - Accepted 2) Don't believe in God ! - You're accepted as Nastik 3) You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a murti pujak. 4) You dont want to worship idols- no problem u can focus on Nirguna Brahman. 5) You want to criticise something in our religion. Come forward. We are logical. Nyaya, Tarka etc are core Hindu schools 6) You want to accept beliefs as it is. Most welcome. Please go ahead with it. 7) You want to start your journey by reading Bhagvad Gita - Sure ! 😎 You want to start your journey by reading Upanishads - Go ahead 9) You want to start your journey by reading Purana - Be my guest. 10) You just don't like reading Puranas or other books. No problem my dear. Go by Bhakti tradition. 11) You don't like idea of Bhakti ! No problem. Do your Karma. Be a karmayogi. 12) You want to enjoy life. Very good. No problem at all. This is Charvaka Philosophy. 13) You want to abstain from all the enjoyment of life & find God - jai ho ! Be a Sadhu, an ascetic ! 14) You don't like the concept of God. You believe in Nature only - Welcome. (Trees are our friends and Prakriti or nature is worthy of worship). 15) You believe in one God or Supreme Energy. Superb! Follow Advaita philosophy 16) You want a Guru. Go ahead. Receive gyaan. 17) You don't want a Guru.. Help yourself ! Meditate, Study ! 18) You believe in Female energy ! Shakti is worshipped. 19) You believe that every human being is equal. Yeah! You're awesome, come on let's celebrate Hinduism! "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is a family) 20) You don't have time to celebrate the festival. Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year. 21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu. 22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved. 23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu! 24) You know that Hinduism is a way of life, with considerable freedom. 25) You believe that everything has God in it. So you worship your mother, father, guru, tree, River, Prani-matra, Earth, Universe! 26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint. 27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu " (May you all live happily) This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive .. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside, and assimilated every good aspects from everything . That is why it is eternal !!! There is a saying in Rigveda , the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell " Ano bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah" Let the knowledge come to us from every direction.

Most of them are half accurate and inaccurate or over exaggerated facts, for like Indians using "ji" on the end of the person name to indicate giving their respect, it is correct but it is only happen in north indian States a.k.a hindi language speakers, it is not applicable with south or east indians, and another half baked thing is, he said married women in india would wear toe ring, indeed it is correct but not all of em are, actually this thing is like a tradition so it changes with people to people, because not all of em are follows the same tradition in india because india has the wide range of traditions, so it is to do with particular community tradition thing in india, so most of them are on this video it is to do with a particular part of or with a community tradition and their followings of india, so it wouldn't be a perfect video to know about india because it will create a misconceptions among the foreigners, for example if someone shows the region of rajasthan desert in a whole video without showing most common parts of india and explaining about the india to international audiences, it will create the first impression of india to their mind like whenever they heard the name of india in future they will remember it like india as a desert place like one of the middle east arabian countries even though in reality, india is located in far away from the middle east asia and most of the Indian region lands are green lush forests mountains and waterfalls,.

'Ji' means 'Heart' and Sometimes 'Soul' adding 'ji' with name means I am adressing directly to your 'Soul' not 'Body' India has Vedas in the roots of its culture. vedas say There is No body but Only Soul. Body is just the accumulation of elements from periodic table. "Body is a lie, Name is temporary, soul is the only eternal truth" So adressing soul is the best idea. Did u get that 'Madam ji'? 😊😊😊😊😊😊

Indiji... 2:06 That was nail polish obviously, who will keep blood like that... Not all can afford L'oreal and stuff & not all womens like subtle Colors & don't do pedicures & stuff weekly... Most of them in india who stay in remote villages (even in city) who work from early till late night, don't have time & stuff to be tiptop...

As a outsider perspective i didn't fell any surprise in her expressions but by the way It's a very diverse country and I personally feel that anyone other than a indian can't discribe it well and deeply. Leave 😅 not even about 0.00000001 dollars any newbie like u can tell about india and it's past. I would suggest you to research on some topics about india like it's past ! No no don't think that it is just a 4 letters word. I give u this challenge if u can make a seperate video for it with only your researchs then only i think anyone shld consider your so called efforts 😂😂. I think you will do it if the name of this channel had come from your heart not from money perspective. Good luck

That's not wedding ring dumbo🤣 It's actually a pressure point there in the second and third toe, which is linked to the uterus, so just to ensure fertility in married females and avoid any complications, it's a therepy that turned into a ritual with time. And please don't feel bad about that 'dumbo', I'm just kidding Edit: no dear, you're nowhere near politics😂

Zorostrian people or Parsis as called , are originally Iranians. They fled Iran or Persia when Muslims attacked their motherland , to avoid torture and conversions. They landed in India , and are living in India even after hundreds of years , practicing their religious beliefs and customs. Is this Weird ??? Infact, ancient India is the only country in the world where Jews were never persecuted. Actually, this should be considered as weird for openness & kindness of Indians.

I think the reason being overweight in America is bcoz of the meat consumption...Like in india even if people call themselves non veg lover still they will not eat non veg items in daily basis...... That's also the reason most western people look older than their age, Asian people look very young...The more veg u will eat the more young u will look....Coz non veg means basically you are eating dead flesh...

Hiii👋 sisy💓 my name mayuran. I'm sri Lankan tamil. Not only India but all the countries in the world are unique in culture and history. A situation has arisen where our identity is being destroyed as we forget our ancient history and move towards innovation. Let’s preserve our ancient history.
