I grew up on Roosevelt Island in the 70s and 80s, and we played on the Ruins all the time. Before they developed the park, the Air Force leased the south end of RI and no one was allowed in. But a bunch of us kids always found a way, and yeah, it's not eerie NOW, but hang around until dark and go climbing through those buildings.... 😂

Hess Triangle is an interesting thing to see in Manhattan. In the early 20th century properties were taken by eminent domain but due to a surveying error a small plot, smaller than a Yield sign, was overlooked. The family decided not to turn the plot over to the city and kept it, placing a mosaic sign there instead.
