Interesting, now I know just maybe how to repair the harp on an old oil lamp. My problem is the treads on base are in the inside of lip of lamp. But I noticed the wick you have is not as thick most wicks, there is hope yet. Thanks.

Got another problem. I cannot unscrew the entire brass assembly from the glass oil tank. Tried WD 40 for a couple weeks and still won't unscrew. Tried soaking in ammonia and it still won't unscrew. Got any suggestions? Wick is broken 1/2 in and cannot get the bottom half out nor able to replace the wick. No way to add fuel either.

with anything else id try heating it up.. BUUUT theres fuel everywhere.. so might not be a good idea... running some HOT water over the brass might help it expand tho!

That's really nice, it's pretty hard to get anything quality from Walmart because everything there is from China. The communist government doesn't care about quality or anything other than making things as cheap as possible. Your video makes me want to search for vintage oil lamps on eBay, or whatever. You could find it but you've got to pay for it a little bit more. But a lot of times it's worth it.

somethings from overseas are hit or miss.. BUT a lot of times i find products that are actually pretty good, and unavailable in the US! :^) sadly, oil lamps are not one of them hah!

I have to ask have you checked ATF lately ? If a little low could be aerating / foaming just a guess. I don't think it is a electric/ computer issue it would go into limp in before a false neutral .

yea.. good idea! - i know on the old ford, stopping hard and fast will make it suck some air when fluid is a bit low! its full up though- the solenoid packs on these transmissions are known for being semi-crummy.. (as well at the entire transmission lol) a lot of times the proper fluid isnt used in these things, and ya get some weird sludging / debris that builds up when incompatible fluid has been been added. got the oil changed a a week or so ago,(called them up today) and apparently they topped it up with mercon/DEX III - which its not compatible with ATF +4 that im running in it. sticky solenoids/servos could make it not wanna shift as expected. when it happened, I dropped it into reverse, and it engaged, then shifted back to drive, and it tried to partially engage - after restarting it real quick, things went back to normal :^) TIME FER A FLUSH!!

Hey Dan, when are you going to start posting info on your Bounder? For what it's worth, I think you should keep your low-pressure tires on the chair for ride comfort and stability. My first chair 19 years ago was a RWD Invacare torque. The chair never let me down but it was quite stressful out in the public. I've been watching your older videos on and off for a while and I came across one where you are giving lessons on how to get up your ramp to your van. You made a comment about hitting it hard and then backing off to go through the doors, or something like that. At first I thought your chair didn't have enough power to climb your ramp but... My son was doing some needed maintenance on my Omega Trac so I was in my new quantum edge. For kicks and giggles, I went out to my van to see if I would be able to get into it with all the snow we have, I live in Duluth Minnesota. I lined up the quantum with the ramp and went slow like I do with the Omega Trac and as soon as my front casters hit the ramp, there I sat. I could not go forward or backwards because of the snow. For some reason your video popped in my head and I had the "Oh, that's what he must be talking about." You need to get momentum to get the drive wheels on the ramp otherwise you're stuck in the Valley. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work!
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 5 жыл бұрын
yup! thats defiantly one reason! the other, is when ya stay on the power as ya climb the ramp, youre tires can start to spin as the chair is trying to accelerate still - letting off the power a bit keeps traction a bit longer. if ya start spinning your tires near the top, youre much more likely to get all sideways, and possibly bail off the side, or slam into the side of the door etc :^) although - a more reasonable solution would be tires that still have tread on them, or some anti-skid material on the ramp! haven't been able to daily drive the bounder just yet.. doesn't fit in either van very well, and also im worried about damaging the wood floors in this house (rocks etc stuck in tire treads) BUT im working on getting a new place with a shop soon - and thats when all the magic will start to happen!!
@jimkrocka1198
@jimkrocka1198 5 жыл бұрын
I put heavy duty 3M anti-skid tape on my ramp but unfortunately if my tires slip with the omega Trac the Tape gets peeled up. After this winter, I am going to See about getting Dura Liner sprayed on with grit. I slid off the ramp last week and needed to air up to back off. The Edge gets all squiggly at the top of the ramp. Rocks and tires are no good for floors, another reason why you should put your original tires back on.

the stock off road tires the chair came with, screwed up some carpet pretty bad when turning.. lol those little skinny ones were ok indoors.. but took away some speed, and also took a LOT of ride quality - ive ordered some different, larger wheels - that will open up a lot more options for different tire sizes :^) for now, these snow-blower tires seem to be working ok - new wheels should be here in a few weeks!

sorry for the delayed response - here's the ones im running on the V6 (AWESOME tires BTW) - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EE9DH1G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for the castor wheels on the V6 - i cant find the link to them right off.. but they're KENDA tires commonly used for ultralight aircraft haha and here's the ones on the back of the bounder (i dont really recommend these ones on the bounder though) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPV3XVZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
