Thanks a lot for sharing this video. I had already done this procedure before on the phone with the permobil service guy for my c500. But now i have the same trouble with my new F5 . Everthing works as described this video ! Thanks a lot. I have to seperate leg rests so only one is autocalibrate. But no problem , that one works fine .. Greeting en keep going !

would a programmer be needed to swap buttons 4 and 8 functions (leg in and out)?
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 10 ай бұрын
swapping the leg rest axis is possible via the 'boot up programming' - no programmer needed! i don't currently have any videos about it though.. this is the first in a series of programming videos for the permobil ICS system though :^) reach out on twitter with a DM, or use the contact form, and i should be able to walk ya thru the process though

My quantum edge 2.0 Qlogic joystick stopped acknowledging that I have tilt/recline/I level/foot adjust functions. It only drives now. Why? (God why??)

welcome to the q-logic control system.... only thing ya can do is go to the dealer / DME and have them check it out. that control system is SO locked down, that ya cant really do any troubleshooting on your own :^/

@@TotallyNormal- no wonder I can’t find any help online. At least now I can stop looking. For some reason, it took a week for my doctor to fax back a signed form saying I’m still a wheelchair user, so I’ll finally be able to schedule maintenance tomorrow. This bureaucracy feels criminal. I’ve been in so much more pain without full use of my wheelchair for over a week.

Any ideas on how to do it on a chair without an ICS switch box I've got the r-net with infrared

How do you recalibrate the ICS if you don't have the remote function buttons and do all the actuator movements via the joystick and screen?
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 10 күн бұрын
unfortunately, the ICS seating buttons are the ONLY to access this functionality :^/

@@TotallyNormal- Thank you. Is it possible to do with the R-Net dongle at all? Also, don't know if you have come across this before but my tilt-in space actuator has started creeping forwards, when the joystick is released, when on another function (mainly on seat lowering) and also when switched off. Any ideas please? Cheers, Mark

i havent found a way to trigger that via the software thats available.. however, back when permobil was shipping all their chairs WITHOUT the seating buttons, that they had to temporarily reconnect a button box just to change settings or run calibration.. sounds like your tilt actuator is starting to have issues - when they drift like that there is a mechanical issue going on.

does anything happen when ya try and adjust the seating with the joystick, instead of the seating buttons?
@mcgnarl
@mcgnarl 12 күн бұрын
I’ve been having an issue where my chair (M3) tilt will “drift” downward so that instead of being in a flat/neutral position it will be pointed towards the floor slightly. I then have to tilt it back a few times to get it to stay flat. Then today I got a 20C3 lift error and the chair couldn’t even move until I did some fiddling and power cycling. I’m curious if you think this calibration process would help with this or if it sounds more like the actuator itself is shot? The vendor has a support case in progress to try and fix it but that process always takes forever. If this is a viable interim bandaid fix it could help this thing keep going longer.
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 12 күн бұрын
ANY time the seating moves without pressing the seating control buttons, the calibration will get thrown off.. in your case - sounds like a failing tile actuator - then yes.. the calibration will be off, and the chair can throw errors etc. how fast does the drift happen? are we talkin a few minutes, or days?
@mcgnarl
@mcgnarl 12 күн бұрын
Oh it’s very quick. For example, I’ll press the button to go from tilted back to flat, release the button, then the chair tilts a little further down over the course of a few seconds. So, essentially the same speed as the actuator itself moves.

Hi, I have a Permobil F5 Corpus VS (2017) wheelchair. The footrest of the chair does not go all the way back. It does not stay at a 90 degree angle when in a normal sitting position. When I do automatic calibration with ICS as you explained in the video, the footrest goes all the way back. However, when I try to move it to different positions and then move it back again, it does not go all the way back. Is there a way to adjust this? The wheelchair has a joystick with a green LCD screen. I could not find a way to enter the settings menu. I would be very happy if you could help me with this. Thank you.

@@TotallyNormal- I just bought the wheelchair. I am not the first owner. Probably the first owner is a severely disabled person. It was adapted for companion driving. It has hardly been used. Only 3 kilometers. It is not really a big deal but I have difficulty getting in and out of the wheelchair. Because the footrest does not fully retract.
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- Ай бұрын
yea sounds like they may have limit the legrest retraction.. there are a few different ways to accomplish this, but might be best to go to a dealer / DME and see if they can adjust things for ya.(they usually charge hourly) also ya might try contacting permobil directly, and if theres a rep in your area, they are usually happy to come out and see if theres an easy fix! (use this form to contact them) hub.permobil.com/support (free option!) fill out what ya can, and someone should get in contact :^)

@@TotallyNormal-Thank you for your interest. I had previously contacted Permobil. But I haven't heard back yet. I just did it again :) The place I bought the chair from is not very skilled in service. There is a general supplier that brings Permobil products to the country. I will contact them as well. I follow your videos with interest. Thank you again. Greetings from Turkey.

Thank you so much for these informative videos can I do that on my C300 2011 chair? 1year ago I tilted the seat all the way forward, the light turned yellow and then I couldn't tilt the seat back since. will this hack fix that issue?
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 10 ай бұрын
so the tilt actuators on the older C300 chairs can get a bit sticky.. also there's a limit switch under the seat pan that tends to get stuck as well.. try getting out of the chair, and have someone lift up on the front of the seat pan a bit while trying to tilt back.. sometimes that will free them up.. other times the limit switch has to be removed. also do you now if that chair has 2G, or 3G seating on it? (the seat back frame will be plastic if 2G and made from metal if 3G)
@F3HEAD
@F3HEAD 10 ай бұрын
I have lengthened my seat from 19 to 22 inches. I've also widened it from 16 to 18 inches. Is this seating change something you would consider significant enough to merit running programing on a 2021 stock Permobil Corpus M3? The chair only has tilt and leg rest functions. The chair seems to be front heavy.
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 10 ай бұрын
Did you get a used chair, and re size it for a new user?
@F3HEAD
@F3HEAD 10 ай бұрын
Yes I did. I bought it used with about 100 miles on it in good shape. It's a standard Permobil M3 Corpus recline/tilt. I extended outward the front of the seat 2 inches and I extended the rear of the seat 2 inches. A smaller older woman owned the chair before me. I typically drive my F3. It might be that I am not used to mid-wheel drive, but it feels sluggish on the front end trying to turn. Who knows, maybe all mid-wheel chairs feel this way. But everything on the chair works fine with no errors etc. but I did resize it.
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 10 ай бұрын
on a permobil to set the 'center of gravity' ya have to adjust the seat back frame as FAR back as it will go, then pull in the front part that the legs mount to, to match. when making the adjustments there are a series of holes (im sure you saw them when adjusting) but basically ya want to shift everything backwards as far as possible. 22" might be the maximum depth possible tho.. in which case ya cant really adjust anything.. but id make sure ya actually need that much depth, and adjust things as far towards the back of the chair as possible :^)

I'm a permobile M3 user. Suddenly I get the error message 'ICS TILT Error 20A3'. How do I fix this?
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 6 ай бұрын
that's an over-current error.. something could have gotten jammed, or the actuator is having trouble.. might need to get the dealer/DME out to have a look

RE: ICS R-NET TILT ERROR (20A1) (permobil) Hello Totally Normal! I have a 2012 permobil Street (last one sold in the United States.) I absolutely LOVE IT! I can’t stop this tilt error from coming up No matter what I do. In inhibits the drive mode of the chair entirely. chair entirely. The actuator has been replaced twice. The 20A1 error comes on even when the chair is NOT tilted at all! I have an Rnet programmer. I am wondering if anyone has ever successfully “turned off” the tilt inhibit. Any guidance welcome. Thank You!
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 7 ай бұрын
that error refers to a sensor cable that may be damaged or have come unplugged. does your chair have 2G seating? (plastic backrest frame) or the 3G version (metal backrest frame)
