10 years. Jerome wasn't built in a day. Who is Jerome Weiselberry ? Writer, KZbinr, avid reader, film and book reviewer, teacher, film historian, monologist, word magician, character analyst, occasional songbird, the best host TCM never had, frontwoman for a dynamic mother daughter duo, time traveler from the 1940's or 90's, prime minister to a parliament of owls, the world's foremost expert on books with the word "Snowbound" in the title, U.S. citizen. She is all that and more.If she was a character in an anime she would go by the moniker of Gojira Jane. So please make room For this nom de plume. If I had to pick. Had to or else.... I would admit that my personal favourite in your catalogue is the Val Lewton sound video. The Pirate video is a classic. The meanings of which will be pondered on for all eternity. "What does Jerome not wearing glasses symbolize ?" Thank you for giving something of value to people you have never met. You brighten our lives. And a shout out to Editing Weiselberry. Who I am convinced is a lookalike cousin. Thank you so much.

It's always a real pleasure watching your videos and spending time in your company, and thank you for all the recommendations. I'm glad you're learning about some new(ish) movies here! No, I'm not in a partnership with KZbin, so I don't get any ad revenue. I have a Ko-fi page for anyone who wants to support the channel voluntarily, but I don't monetize my videos. It could be they slapped an ad on this one because a few seconds of copyrighted music were flagged.

I loved your trip down memory lane! I was hoping you were going to do something like that for your tenth anniversary! You are actually the reason I made a KZbin account over five years ago, so I could comment on your Jane Eyre videos. In the coming days, I'm planning to do a rewatch of your adaptation comparison series because it is that good. I heard you mention that you cringe at your pirate costume video, but I really like it. It reminds me of what I love most about Halloween, pumpkin bread and halloween candy. So I hope you never take it down. Another highlight for me was when you ran around the during house for your Persuasion review. Your Snowbound review series was also fun. Though I don't have time to watch it in one sitting, I usually rewatch it in chunks. I can't get enough of your book reviews. Thank you for doing this for ten years. I've only been around for about half that time, but I really appreciate all the hard work you have poured into your channel for the past ten years. And thank you for replying whenever I post a comment. It always makes my day 😊. Congratulations again!

Happy 10 Year Anniversary Jerome. I started watching your vids back in mid 2021 right after my son was born, but my first vids of yours were the Universal Horror reviews, in particular Creature from the Black Lagoon vid. And while I've been a bit sporadic, I have enjoyed your content since then. In fact your review of Signs inspired me to do my own review of the film in early 2023. My oldest existing video is from 2017 but I'm pretty sure I started doing movie reviews in late 2015 so I'm pretty sure next year will be my own decade anniversary. And while I've decided to take a few month long sabbatical due to many personal issues I am trying hard to get through, but hopefully next year will be a better year for me and here's to another 10 years of your content.

Happy 10 year anniversary Ms Weiselberry and - Thank you - for every second of it :D Thank you for every review and discussion, thank you for every film, book and piece of music that have become favourites because of you. Thank you for the kindness and patience you’ve shown in your responses to comments throughout the years. Thank you for the laughs and the singing and all the “ warm Hello everyone’s and the cheerful Bye’s📈. Thank you for the times you’ve opened your heart and shared your thoughts on important issues like those mentioned in your I Married a Monster from Outer Space review. Thank you for restoring my faith, it’s true, I was carrying anger because of the loss I’ve suffered and what you said in a response was so meaningful profound and helpful to me. It may turn Oscar speech but I’d like to give a little thank you to god for a moment because it has seemed like he’s wanted me to discover and watch your channel, wanted? more like pushed me to watch it and has laid out situations to make commenting a little easier by having an obscure film air on tv a day or two before or the same day your review for the film is uploaded or by seeing strange reminders of your channel very early when I may have wondered off haha, luck! I once almost left because of the loss of a friend and it felt like the world became angry with me, luck vanished, it sounds bonkers I know. I’ll always be a huge fan and will watch as long as you make videos, I may return to lurker mode at some point for a while and was considering doing it just before hearing about your anniversary video and realised I can’t shhh now :) I’ve been feeling less confident about my comments for a while, they’re long and dull and not of any interest so I should be quiet for a bit. I’ve probably communicated more with you over the last number of years regularly, weekly than some people I’ve known my whole life and have shared more about my thoughts and feelings in these comments than I do even with family, if I’m not careful I’ll have a chapter to myself in a parasocial textbook lol. You’re not a regular run of the Marlborough Mill KZbinr, ( got a North and South reference in :D ) You’re truly great at what you do and have gained a large number of really kind, loyal and smart followers and there’s much more to come. As for aging you’re one of those people that time ignores and it has me wondering if there’s a portrait hidden away in the attic, The Portrait of Jerome Weiselberry by Oscar Wilde lol, commenting on how a lady looks can be a difficult endeavour for a guy, be a gent and don’t say something that may come across as awkward or inappropriate, mentioning a lady’s appearance is probably inappropriate from the start, You have always looked very good and have no doubt you’ll still look great as an old lady in a bazillion years time, phew, think I did okay. You’re a Christine but even if you looked like The Phantom or The Phantomised Bear hahaha( still one of my favourite things) it wouldn’t matter because you are you, the best reviewer there is and you’ve created so many videos to be proud of, you’ve given us so much entertainment and joy over the years and we thank you. I loved all your costumed review videos even the pirate one haha, it was pirate with a dash of 80s hairband fan, pirate/biker metal chick lol. Confession! When I first watched your western video I hadn’t realised you were dressed like a cowboy, How did I not notice the plaid shirt and bandana? hahaha. I love the noir video and the edit was amazing, I have that video in my KZbin favourites and the Moby Dick video, amazing! the edit and your monologue and reaction to said monologue was fantastic, you’re a performer at heart. Your reaction to Ishmael/Herman’s going’s on is how I imagine you and others may react to reading my comments haha. The Val Luton video is a special one and I love your Jane Eyre comparison videos especially. The Vast of Night🛸 review is a personal favourite too and the Signs review is meaningful to me, your Hitchcock series is terrific and your Universal Monsters reviews because those films have always meant a lot to me and my favourite series of films ever-Star Trek. Blaster beams for the win. I love your Phantom videos and your quirky science fiction b-movie reviews and you’ve given me a bigger appreciation for Godzilla and introduced him to a new audience I’m sure. There’s so many I could mention, Colditz is another and every WWll film you’ve reviewed. Books, Dandelion Wine/The Book Thief, Vanity will get you Somewhere to name a few. Music, Bread! My comment is long but there’s always way more I want to say but need to edit myself lol. I appreciate all the time you’ve dedicated to these videos, thank you. The map you discovered on your library haul could’ve been for the north tunnels at the University of Massachusetts, I remember hearing about them ages ago. It’s like National Treasure in real life, maybe there’s revolutionary war treasure hidden in a secret tunnel or a load of stale tea lol. ~ Thank you Ms Weiselberry and congratulations! ~ Your mum and dad must be very proud of you :)

Ah, thank you for that! Really. It's humbling to know that these discussions of books and films have been of benefit to someone on such a personal level. As for your comments, I've always valued them, no matter how long they are, and I daresay others enjoy them as well, although maybe the idea of someone besides me reading what you've written makes you feel a little squirrelly. :) I don't always respond promptly, either because I'm being squirrelly myself or I'm busy attending to things I couldn't do while I was editing, but I still look forward to them every week. That said, if you ever decide to take a break, I'll understand, since I'm a lurker myself, except on my own channel. I would miss hearing from you, and I would also worry if you suddenly disappeared. So if you do choose to go underground, could you let me know first? You can always just drop me an email or a message on Ko-fi. I guess there is a little biker/hairband rocker in the pirate outfit, haha! And it's understandable that you didn't recognize I was dressed up for the westerns video, since (like many of my costumes!) that was a very low-effort look. :D The map on the napkin was one of many pieces of ephemera from a book-within-a-book thing titled S., written by J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst. The bonus materials were amazing, the work itself... ehhh. I don't know how much Abrams actually contributed to the writing, but conceptually it's got him all over it. Thanks again!

@@Weiselberry I wouldn’t want to worry you or have you thinking I had left completely and wouldn’t comment again or I’d lost interest in your videos, impossible! I promise not to disappear without telling you and I shouldn’t have brought it up until I knew what I was going to do for sure, I’m sorry! (I have eye drops in and it’s making typing this EXTREMELY difficult hahaha, it’s a blur! It was just a normal eye exam because it’s been a few years, my eyes are good thankfully ) Squirrelly is a good word for me in general I think lol. I’ve always understood that it’s very difficult for you to respond to every comment and wouldn’t want you to feel like it was expected of you, I can’t imagine how much time goes into making a video and responding to or liking the hundreds of comments you receive and you need time for you so please don’t worry about it, I completely understand :) My recent lack of confidence and bushy tailed squirrellyness is all me, it’s been quite a stressful few months and I’m sure it hasn’t helped. MY brother-in-law is doing better. ~ Have a lovely day and thank you again Ms Weiselberry ~ :) Oh I forgot to mention your Invisible Man costumes :D I’m sure I’ve said how great they looked before but they’re worth bringing up again, Amazing! hahaha

@@bartolomeuomacduibheamhnad6855 Oh, good, I'm glad to hear your brother-in-law is doing okay now. And your eyes are in good shape! That's important. Yes, those Invisible Man costumes! They would have been perfect if only the scarves didn't smell so bad. An attempt to film a whole video with them wrapped around my noggin might have caused a serious headache, so it's just as well I abandoned the idea. :)

@@Weiselberry If there was a chance filming the review while wearing the costume would make you feel unwell I’m very glad you decided against it, your good health is the most important thing and seeing the costume for a moment was entertaining enough. Imagine if wearing it caused you to faint and your mum or dad walked in 😨😳 they’d jump from fright and it’d be a funny situation to explain lol. ( Ambulance crew: ‘we’re bringing in the invisible girl as a precaution) ( Hospital: ‘ you’re bringing in who?) lol \| 🏥______🚑💨_____🏠 ~ Have a great day and thank you Ms Weiselberry ~

@@Weiselberry Wow!!!!! When I said there was more to come I’d never have guessed you’d double your subscriber number in five days hahaha. I’m really happy for you :D ….111, 372 views!…I know that you’re satisfied with how everything has been going with your channel and its steady rate of growth so the sudden massive increase of subscribers must make you a tad apprehensive but I’d like to believe everything happens for a reason. I’ve read some of the new comments, Reddit?? Amazing! I’ve never been on Reddit and had no idea users had this kind of influence :0 The Reddit post looks to have came from someone with good intentions so hopefully it’ll lead to good and positive things because you deserve it :D

Congratulations on 10 years! 🎉 I wandered in via Godzilla when I was doing my own first watch-through and stayed for the open, kind-hearted, and thoroughly eclectic reviews of everything else. In a space often characterised by snobbery and snark it’s so nice to see someone who clearly honestly just enjoys movies and wants to share. Here’s to another 10 years!

Congrats JW! Always enjoy hearing your thoughts on older movies. And to hear someone talking about them on KZbin. You have a great presentation on this channel--thoughtful, articulate. Also really enjoyed your conversation with Daisuke Beppu--would love to see more collaborations like that if you decide to do them. Hope to see your channel grow and for you to continue doing what you do!
