Weki Meki is right there on the edge of being considered a mid-tier group. Ki-lings are a strong fanbase (+ international appeal that fell for Teen Crush concepts) , they get regular comebacks and promotion by their agency, get invited to various variety shows and get CF deals (Mainly Doyeon but still able to bring attention). While they don't release all the numbers (and album sales or views are not the only indicators) I think they're at least making enough to get more comebacks from Fantagio. They haven't gotten their first win yet but I think they're doing the healthiest behind WJSN of the post-IOI groups (Chungha is the most successful, Somi is still new, DIA had a semi-recent comeback but not sure if poorly promoted or poorly received there, Gugudan is secretly planning a comeback or on unofficial hiatus, Pristin was dungeoned then disbanded)

Seems that IOI fans only support the members when they're in IOI but overlook their current groups even tho they produce good music.

Honestly they had a better starting point that other nugu groups JUST BY having IOI members but if the songs, outfits, promotions they get are limited by their agency's connections/abilities already then that's just how it's going to turn out whether a small dedicated fanbase keeps up with them

I’m not Indian but I do know that those ‘stickers’ are called bindis. It has a strong rooted historical, cultural and religious background in India. Different types of bindis represent different meanings, so for someone to carelessly use them, in ignorance to its meaning is not cool. It’s not racist, but it is culture appropriation. I’m not blowing a torch towards weki Meki as I say this since they seem like well-intentioned girls, HOWEVER, their stylists should do more research and put more consideration into knowing what they’re actually putting on the girls.

“Let’s get crazy” is a term that means “let’s get wild” as in losing control of yourself. it’s not ableist in any form. They didn’t say “let’s get depressed” or “let’s get handicapped” that’s literally not a thing. Also, they haven’t exploited anything. It’s nice to speak up for cultures, however if a culture ENJOYS having people try to imitate and pay respects, then it’s not your place to say anything. Now if Indian people had a problem with it, that’s different. THEN you could talk about how it’s an issue. There’s flattery, and then there’s appropriation.
