Despite his egotistical persona on yt(which I love), Joel is so aware and humble. The amount of times he said “I’m lucky” and “I’m privileged” was so real of him. But when skizz kinda said that he does deserve this and put in the work made me tear up. 2/3

I'm willing to bet this is already in the pipeline. We don't even have to ask. It would be beneficial, and for balance, to interview more women, to see content creation from a woman's perspective. How do they juggle video production and laundry? Not only an interview with Lizzie, but with FalseSymmetry, StressMonster, and ZombieCleo. This will be a challenge for "the boys", no doubt. But worth the experience.

@@qubit0000 I'm glad you brought up False, Stress, and Cleo as I've been hoping for Cleo for the longest time after Impulse and Skizz dropped the ball with Gem. But I'd rather see each of them get their own podcasts than shoved into a "girl gamer" special episode.

Found Grian in 2015/16 doing biuld swaps and build schools, then he joined Hermitcraft and ive been a viewer of probably 75% if not more of the Hermits sinse. But what really blew up my Imp and Skizz love was a mixture of the life series and Impulse joining the botem hole crew. As a small content creator that is currently at a low point "end of the rollercoaster" analogy is such a great motivator. Thank you for the amazing podcasts

In ten years I hope that Joel's still very happy doing what he loves and I hope that I'm still watching the videos of the man that I have first watched back when I was in 6th grade. I'm graduating college next year and I'm still watching Joel (man time flies). It's been so fun knowing more about this man who I consider a childhood hero through this podcast so I'm very thankful and I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it!! 🤍🫂

Maybe etho feels that way because he doesn’t play the algorithm. I’m not saying it’s bad or anything. But etho stays true to who he is and doesn’t really force himself to be dragged by the algorithm. Which might mean that youtube doesn’t push him to new audiences. I am a relatively new mc yt watcher. I watched etho because everybody else that showed up on my feed said etho was so amazing. Not cos etho popped on my feed. When you first start watching minecraft, it depends on where u start I suppose. But for me just getting into minecraft for the first time, Grian got pushed on me by the algorithm. And once u get into grian, the algo started showing me scar. The other hermits I only found because I actively wanted to complete my hermit viewership Etho is often seen as like a celebrity within mc yt. Like how mcc players reacted to etho’s first appearance on mcc or meeting him for the first time. So he has cult following a bit and like he’s seen as a classic and almost revered? By fans. But for newcomers to this content side, may miss etho on their feed I don’t think he has to change because he still has a large and loyal viewership. But if he feels discontent about new viewers, that may be why Xisuma talks about how etho not playing the algorithm could be a drawback or a strength to him because there are people that LOVE etho for exactly that reason

I just want to say, this podcast is one of my favorites of all time! And I really appreciate the both of you for doing this. We may never see eachother, but you guys do make a big impact on the world. Honestly, this podcast helps me feel grounded seeing how similar and disimilar we all are as people

Freshman year in high school so around the same age as Joel, I tore my ACL playing soccer and had to have reconstructive surgery- so a year recovery with the hamstring graft. They had to drill through my growth plate and had a very similar injury/ recovery. However, I went onto university to play. It's a lot of hard work- but it's doable! But range of motion isn't all there and now being 10 years out of it, I still have inflammation and aches and runners' knees by the age of 25. Now 30, I don't do much contact- just coach.

Same, the End needs a major overhaul. And, yes, I remember the season where ZombieCleo created a build in the End that was mind-boggling. mhm. Keep up the awesome work. And, take care. /o

Good to see Joel on the podcast! I decided to watch Etho because other hermits would explore his wacky season 7 base and I wanted to see how his creative process worked. His chill vibes, beautiful builds, and unique sense of humor got me hooked.
