Like John Travolta or not you're seeing him right on the cusp of becoming the biggest star on the planet within 2 years of this. Saturday Night Fever in 1977 and Grease the following year.

I was thinking the same. Like other stars, he had that magical "IT" factor that some people have, and with the right vehicle their careers explode. I also mean TV actors making the jump to the elusive "movie star " film career e.g., Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Robin Williams, Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields, and others.

You’re thinking of Grease where a 33 year old Stockard Channing played a teenage Rizzo. Travolta was about 20 or 21 when this started in 1975. Not a great deal of difference really, just about three years, not twelve.

Wow, these shows are 49 years old. Imagine in 1985 watching the show 50 years old that would be like watching a show from 1935 let that sink in. Also, John Travolta has been a star for that long five decades.

I don't think TV shows existed yet in 1935. You'd have to go to the movies to see a show. Or listen to a radio program, but TVs didn't become common in homes until the late 1940's-early 1950's.

@@metagaminguniversemgu2240 i’ve been thinking a lot about this too over the last few months, I’m 51 now and I think we were around for the best part of life so far. Think about it we have a computer camcorder word processor, Video Editor professional camera all in our pocket on the cell phone. I remember when I wanted to buy a small pocket Sony computer has to be 20 or 25 years ago it did almost nothing and it was a few grand. I don’t get me wrong when flying cars come out that would be crazy. I don’t think we’ll make it for that but we made it for a lot of the good things so far I remember even the flatscreen TV I was the first one in my family who bought one 21 years ago. It was an RCA 42 inch. Hanging on the wall like a picture everybody was amazed and I think that cost me over five grand now for 600 you can get a 80 inch lol

We used to get this show in Australia too back in the late 70's early 80's. Loved this show among many others. Happy Days, MASH, The Muppets etc, so many. What's on tv now? A relentless parade of crap reality shows. I don't even receive a tv signal anyway. I watch youtube, some other sites news and my tv series/movies library stored on my hard drives. I think we peaked in the 80's and 90's because it's been all downhill from there lol.

I remember trying to do Barbarino dance when I was about 8-9 very badly. Horshack was my fave character. Only found out a few years ago Ron Palio had died !!

Thsi is the most iconic scene that I remember as a kid in the 70's, we were all singing and doing the dance at school.😂😂

So I'm an 80's baby..born 1985, and for as long as I can remember, I have been a fan of this show. I remember being a little boy spending nights at my aunts. She would always fall asleep with the tv on (usually nick and nite) and I would try to wake up in the middle of the night around 3 or 4 just to catch this show. I think I might a dvd collection of this.
