I was thinking the same. Like other stars, he had that magical "IT" factor that some people have, and with the right vehicle their careers explode. I also mean TV actors making the jump to the elusive "movie star " film career e.g., Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Robin Williams, Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields, and others.

I don't think TV shows existed yet in 1935. You'd have to go to the movies to see a show. Or listen to a radio program, but TVs didn't become common in homes until the late 1940's-early 1950's.

@@metagaminguniversemgu2240 i’ve been thinking a lot about this too over the last few months, I’m 51 now and I think we were around for the best part of life so far. Think about it we have a computer camcorder word processor, Video Editor professional camera all in our pocket on the cell phone. I remember when I wanted to buy a small pocket Sony computer has to be 20 or 25 years ago it did almost nothing and it was a few grand. I don’t get me wrong when flying cars come out that would be crazy. I don’t think we’ll make it for that but we made it for a lot of the good things so far I remember even the flatscreen TV I was the first one in my family who bought one 21 years ago.
