This is actually crazy, a man that is extremely well known in the LEC(EU LCS) going to Korea learning a completely new role and a language just to pursue his dreams. This requires a lot of courage and determination. The ambition from Rekkles is crazy because it’s extremely hard to give up all the recognition and glory that he has built in the LEC. Hope that he will achieve his dreams!

in all honesty, this made me so happy, because I too decided to move to another country and start a new life with new language and challenges, however not gonna lie, doubt was always on my mind if I had made the right decision or not. seeing Rekkles do the same thing gives me a bit more validation not gonna lie. way to go man, wish you all the best.

@@masaharu10k true it became such a weird perception that you only can become happy if you become famous. Becoming succesful is also a luck thing. Not everbody who is succesful is happy. It´s not suprising that a lof famous people are taking drugs and stuff. There are people in 3`d world countries having nothing and they have the brightest smile on earth. There are tons of life views and nobody knows what´s true. I think the best way is to let everbody just live how they want. There is no formula.

To give up on the tons of easier options you had and moving to Korea takes bravery, determination and a laser focus mindset on what you truly want deep down in your heart. After all, you aren’t a rookie. You had a good career back in LEC. I’m impressed with how you could swallow your pride and start afresh in a new country speaking an entirely different language. I wish him the best, but I don't think he's going too far in Korea. He is a 27 year old player learning Support in a foreign country with a different language, playing for an Academy team where he is not going to get promoted to the main team (Rekkles is not replacing Keria). I may be cynical, but this looks more like a cool life experience and marketing opportunity rather than a way forward in his career. I wish we could have gotten to see him play supp in LEC and actually compete, rathen than play in T1 Academy.

Well said. But about swallowing pride and being bold, I don't know if that's correct. He faced so much criticism from LEC and LCS people for declining offers, and then they threw dirt on his name by "mounting evidence" that he's toxic and no other players want to work with him. Why should he stay with these people, when better people welcome him. I think it must've been a much easier decision than you think. He was clearly EU's best player but they herald Caps as the best for no good reason. I think why they call him toxic is because he's been speaking the truth that people need to step up if they wanna be relevant on the world stage. It's always been LCK Vs the LPL and the rest get a participation trophy with a fat salary (salary being fat and secure being why they don't try hard). I think Rekkles always wanted to go where the competition thrives. Him and Bjergsen have been in a very similar spot for a while. I won't be surprised at this point if we see another announcement coming up soon.

skt literally didnt do it for talent tho, rekkles is already 27, and he has been on a downward spiral since 2020...Support is a good role for him and he can use his experience best in that role, so for youth development and marketing it makes so much sense + its now known that a lot of this young players will be bought to western teams (photon,berserker) so he can help them with english as well. Absolutely insane move from T1 and insane the motivation for Rekky...Also another thing if you wanna be smart about it, T1 can only call-up someone from their academy roster or someone who they have registered as a sub...Their sub is Skyy their coach so yeah if Keria cant play, Rekky would have to fill somehow@@rrhalelol4668

@@rrhalelol4668 T1 doesn't need foreign players for marketing. The Korean league is already overwhelmed with accommodating Korean prospects, trainees, and promising players. That's why many players go abroad, and this is a fact. Realistically, it might be difficult for Rekkles to play as a main player in T1. I don't understand why Rekkles, who could have received proper recognition for his career, joined the secondary team of T1, nor why T1 recruited him despite having enough players in their academy team and trainees. However, saying that Rekkles was brought in for marketing is too cynical a view. T1 doesn't need to do that. I think there is a slim chance of overcoming a new language, a new culture, and a new position, pushing out Keria , a T1 first-team supporter, and becoming a first-team supporter. But I support his tremendous challenge. But that would be the odds of winning the lotto. If Rekkles pushes Keria out with a very slim chance and becomes a T1 first-team supporter, I'm a Korean, but I'm very likely to shed tears of emotion. Because it's an impossible level of probability.

I'm from Europe and have always followed the LCK because it's simply the best. I always said EU's only star player was Rekkles. Seems like he knows what he's worth and joined the greatest team ever.
