My son is dyslexic, and he used to be so frustrated and get so sad and angry at himself for getting things wrong and getting stuck. We are both Hermitcraft fans, and i have used Scar as an example of how to handle his struggles differently. Like, Scar misspelled Gify Shop. Grian points it out, and they both laugh and have fun with it. That was a massive turnaround for him. He still struggles, but when he gets stuck, we have a little chat about Scar, and he feels a bit better. He just finished Treasure Island, and he is so proud of himself. He is less scared of classmates laughing at him now, and he has started enjoying reading books.

I've never really got into Skizz before this podcast, he was just this charming and funny guy hanging out with some of the hermits sometimes. But now I see he's very articulated, reflected and intelligent. This format is so perfect for him, I love listening to his thoughts and opinions.

His and Impulse's older collaborative works are so worth a watch if you're enjoying Skizz content. It can definitely feel a bit dated, but I highly suggest going back and watching all their seasons of Naked and Scared, and the old IRL ZITS streams. The old N&S seasons are all hilarious, and the fact that Impulse and Skizz have been friends for 20+ years just makes the banter between them so entertaining. As for the ZITS streams, those are Zedaph, Impulse, Tango, and Skizz collaborating during one of Zed's trips to the U.S. They are so good.

Same, I thought Skizz was a funny goofball, but he gets deep here. Sigh, Impulse reminds me of me, very reflective and too hard on himself, but the growth as a human being, Love to see it. This podcast has taught me a lot. Mad Respect

I'm the same. Decided to give the podcast a listen and was just awe struck by the ability of Skizz to tell a story and make it interesting. It is a skill so few have. I actually started digging into his life content and thinking about starting some of the N&S content and checking out the streams. So glad I was able to stumble on this stuff!

Wow. I just. This man. THIS. MAN. I could have listened to him talk for hours but I don't think Jellie would have waited any longer. He truly is an imagineer of a different kind. His MC builds are astonishing and he inspired me to make my builds better and to add movement to give it life and a story. Hearing his Disney rambles are always a lot of fun, and I love how despite the 'no Disney' question rule he still talked Disney eventually. He is amazingly strong (helps he has amazingly strong parents) and I hope that after the crap stuff he's had to deal with especially in the last few years finally gives him a break and he has many good things coming his way. He deserves the best of all the good times he's given us over the years. ❤

Exactly : Impulse, you're a ... no, great doesn't apply size wise... an amazing dwarf. You were also great in you 24 hours stream of hogwarts, Willy Wonka was a nice way for you to mix creativity with your redstony bits, and those interactions you had arriving on the Empires server? funny as heck. I think you underestimate your hability to create and make dreams live, because you consider yourself a technician of sorts, maybe. But you do it. you manage to make us live it. Do not doubt yourself or your creative side. you're a musician! You ARE creative and able to play roles.

As someone who discovered Hermitcraft and Scar with Season 8, it's crazy to hear that Scar once considered improv and interacting with other creators to be some of his weak points. If I was asked to describe him as a creator in 2023, those are two of the elements I would mention first as reasons I adore his content. Makes me think, maybe there's hope for my socially anxious brain yet! 😅

I thought last week’s podcast was short but this was like… 5 minutes long??? Scar is an incredible person with so many stories. I’ve heard so many over the years but he still has plenty more up his sleeve. Scar is the ONLY Disney Adult I can stand but with his explanation of how he wanted to be an Imagineer (a word I has not learned of until Scar) since childhood and how he tried his best to make that happen for himself (we all need an Aunt like Scar’s… what a perfect gift), I finally learned why he wanted to be one in this podcast and also why it was something a young child and teenager would aspire to be. And as much as I dislike constant Star Wars talk, it would be amazing to hear a conversation between Scar & Skizz’ wife lol Thank you for editing in the fanart you were referring to so we could see it as well! I have seen all of those, except for the MCC fanart Scar & Impulse gushed over - I wish you had included that too. That picture of Scar with all those Canadian medals is hilarious and a bit nostalgic I have a few medals like that with the white lanyard with red maple leaf repeating but those medals from one event put together puts my meager collection to shame lol It’s hard to believe Scar used to be timid and unassured in HC meetings but seeing him grow from season 4 to 9 has been a pleasure. It’s surprising Grian gave Scar that pointer in season 6. Scar & Cub have been playing as Vex possessed; they are the original roleplayers and they both did it super well as the ConVex in season 5 and ConCorp in season 6. And there are still nods here and there in the subsequent seasons. I really miss Cub and Scar but with the references even now still poking through, it gives me hope to see the ConVex team up again. They reappeared in the latest TCG match between the Pharoah and Scar who protested the Vex on Vex damage lol Thanks for another wonderful podcast episode! These are always a treat to look forward to Fridays for.

I haven’t finished this yet but Scar is definitely one of my favorite creators. His personality is so warm and he’s so passionate it’s infectious. Etho was kind of that roll this season of Limited Life, where he technically was playing two teams. With him being named "dad" he was apart of the Clockers. But he also had "TIES" ;) with you guys. I feel like he came to a fork in the road eventually and had to choose a side. He easily could have done the "I need to be there for my kids and family" and then he has all your secrets and a new team. I absolutely love the "behind the scenes" of these videos. Martin this year did a stream before each session where he would workshop on Twitch different ideas and different traps. I think the whole concept of the life series are awesome!

6 minutes in with Scar's story and it hits close to home like you wouldn't believe. I was 20 when my health took a dive. I was going to be a large animal vet, I have a major passion for medicine, biology, the sciences in generally really. We kept going for one more test, one more procedure, one more medication, one more diagnosis, one more, one more, maybe we found a solution... but we didn't. It took me a while to finally accept that my health will always be poor, especially after my diagnoses came back as incurable. Treatable, if you could call it that, but not curable. I had to let go of my dreams, which was the second hardest thing I ever had to do. The hardest thing I ever had to do was let go of my independence. For years, I was in limbo, trying to figure out what to do with my life other than try to ignore how sick I feel on a daily basis. Living without a purpose is no way to live, it can quickly deteriorate anyone's will to keep going. I think I've found my path at last but getting there was *not* easy. I'm just glad Scar found his path being one of the greatest Minecraft builders ever, being an Imagineer in his own way, and he can share it with everyone. Edit: Ngl, I couldn't stop staring at Jellie. SHE HAS NEEDS. xD

I do love that Scar was your guys' initial test subject for virtual guests, which if this and part 1 are any indication, it would be nice if eventually all the other Hermits, and even the guys from Empires and the Life series could all be a part of the podcast in some form. It would be better if they could be there in person, but for those who can't fly out to Arizona because they live in another state or even another part of the world, I like the idea that being on even in a Skype/Discord or whatever group video chat thing there is available, is always an option.

Talking about cats reminds me of our lad Dave. He was acting off one day so we took him to the vet, two vets there checked him over and told us that he had some really bad illness, that it can't be treated and he's gonna need to be put down, he'd give us some time to say goodbye. I remember looking at this, at the time, 1 year old cat and just thinking that's not right, he's not showing signs of this issue, I did some vet training before I got really ill (similar to Scar but different disabilities) so I told my mother no, we're going to another vet and getting a second opinion. Took him to a second vet who very graciously slotted us in on the same day, the new vet looked him over then turned to us and said "He's very constipated". He had meds, stayed there for a day because she wanted to monitor him and did "the smelliest poo I've ever had to deal with" according her and bang, he was fine again. We told her what the other vet had said (my mother was a wreck at this point), about how he had this illness and he was gonna need to be put to sleep and she said that was ridiculous and called it in to that vets to correct them. She also recommended some diet changes to us to help him digest better and that was that. He's turning 12 this year, no issues since.

I just adore Scar. He's so inspiring, so entertaining, so down to earth. All these years I've watched him, he's grown as a creator, but he's still the same guy no matter what he does. I've stopped watching a lot of KZbinrs not because their content isn't good, but because when they stream they don't treat the people watching the greatest. Impulse, Skizz, and Scar have never done that. I appreciate that. My favorite Scarism is when he called Mumbo "Bumbo Bigbagins", it still cracks me up.

Skizz, scar was 100% right about what he said about you inspiring. You said something in one of the earlier podcast that totally changed my family life. That was “never so no to your kids if they are asking for your time.” It has changed everything we do and I have you thank.

Ok, I've said this last episode, Scar is a treasure and I'm so glad you guys got him on. Much like with Tango, it's so cool, not only to hear about them and you guys, but to hear all of you interacting and bouncing off each other. This was awesome. Also, skizz, the editing is still ON POINT! the extra pictures and video clips just took this to the next level! Thank you both for all your work on this podcast!

Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts. At this moment I write to you and give you my words and I'm truly inspired to act more. Thanks so much for all of your acts! ⭐️

I’m rewatching this and it breaks my heart to hear Scar talking about chasing that dream. It’s exactly how I feel. I had to accept recently that my disability is not going away and I’m not going to be able to achieve my goals in life. Grieving a healthy life is such a process and it fills me with hope that maybe I can relook at my life and adapt to achieve my life goals in different way Scar, Imp and Skizz are so articulate and it’s such an honour to listen to these discussions

17:51 "We can't plan going into the life series." That might be the best improv lesson. If you plan too much, it can (and will) get squashed. The improvisor's response to getting squashed is "ok, how does my character react to getting squashed?"

This was a great episode! I love hearing Scar talk and the dynamic between the three of your is great, but I also have to comment on how much I appreciate the interview style. Both Impulse and Skizz do a good job with their guests of adroitly guiding the conversation so the guest has plenty of opportunity to talk and material to talk about. You also did a great job in this episode of letting the emotion develop while never letting things get too heavy, which would be easy when dealing with topics like Scar's illness. Being a good interviewer can be pretty thankless because the best interviewers blend in so seamlessly, but I just wanted to say what a good job you guys are doing!

Yeah... Scar is amazing!! When I was younger I had trouble walking without my feet hurting after a while. I, in the last few months, couldn't get through a 3 hour shift at my side job without taking painkillers before and after while still feeling pain. So I went to the hospitals and doctors and I found out that it is because there is to much bone in my feet (both of them). Some actual extra bone pieces and some bone where cartilage should be. The doctors aren't going to be solving it by surgeries and such... so I (this news was brought to me last week), basicly need to get a job where I sit down most of the time. Because I either am in pain constantly and stuff would break down if I do walk and jump and run around much. This meant that I feel/felt stuck and lonely. However, I feel less lonely and stuck because of Scar. Even before this all I did. Thank you Scar! You are amazing and I love you so so much!

So cool that Scar eventually realized he was still living his Imagineer dream through Minecraft and KZbin, even if it wasn't actually working for Disney. As Skizz said, though, he might still be able to do the official thing as well someday. If he's got the imagination, I'm sure the folks at Disney would be able to help him make it happen.
