Part 2. 01:14:03 Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Sequence showing traditional Sri Lankan images: a statue of a Buddha, paddy fields, a small village. Various shots of women picking tea with a woman speaking on the soundtrack explaining the work she does. Various shots of Buddhist shrines and paper lanterns. High angle shot of a procession of dancers who are dancing to greet the Queen. Closer shots of the dances who play instruments as they dance. They lead a procession of cars, the Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh are in the last car. C/Us of some of the musicians and their instruments. C/Us of elephants wearing elaborate head dresses. The dancers wear ornate costumes - some are young children. Kandy - ceremonial dancing continues in Victoria Park. Kandy Chiefs in traditional dress wait to greet the Queen. Various shots of the royals greeting local dignitaries. The Queen plants a tree. C/Us of various Sri Lankan dignitaries and of children watching her visit. The royals leave amidst cheers, applause and the roar of elephants.
01:17:56 Africa. Shots of wildlife - elephants, hippopotami, crocodiles, birds. The Queen is welcomed by African dignitaries in Uganda. C/Us of the people who have come to see the Queen. An African voice on the soundtrack tells of how in Uganda there are people of many races and languages who mingle together to see their sovereign. A traditional dance is performed to the sound of drums. C/Us of the dancers and musicians. They are dressed in leopard skin and ceremonial head dresses.
01:19:48 The Western Desert. Narrator speaks of the war of the Western Desert over shots of barren land and relics of the men who served there - barbed wire, an abandoned lamp, a piece of cloth. C/U of the entrance to the Tobruk War Cemetery. C/Us of war graves. The Queen and Prince Philip place a memorial wreath.
01:20:48 L/S of the Royal Yacht Britannia and of the Royal Air Force planes which accompany it on its journey. Aerial shot of the Yacht and shots of the Mediterranean Fleet.
01:21:15 M/S of Admiral Lord Mountbatten's flagship leading the welcoming party of destroyers. Various shots of the ships, the Royal Ensign flying, 21 gun salute, the royal family waving at a passing ship, helicopters rising from the carrier "Eagle" etc.
01:22:40 Malta. The Royal Yacht Britannia in dock. Flags of Malta and the European nation greet the royal party. A ceremony to commemorate the airmen who fought and died in the second World War. Various shots of the unveiling of a memorial. Shot of small rowing boats on Grand Harbour as Prince Charles and Princess Anne arrive to meet up with their parents. Shots of the two youngsters shaking hands with dignitaries. Various shots of crowds watching their arrival and the soldiers on guard. The royal children arrive at the Finisher (?) Hotel where they shake hands with dignitaries and go inside. High angle shot of a large parade in Floriana (?). The royal children watch from the balcony.
01:24:53 Aerial shot of the Rock of Gibraltar. The Royal Yacht arrives, various shots including the royal children talking to their sailor escorts. The Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh disembark and are offered the keys of the fortress by the Governor. The last visit of the tour. Queen and Philip are driven past crowds of waving spectators. Many wave little Union Jack flags. C/Us of smiling children. C/Us of the Gibraltar apes. Princess Anne and Prince Charles are taken up to feed the monkeys. Nice sequence showing the "children at play". Anne isn't scared at all but Charles looks a bit wary! The Queen and Prince Philip arrive and feed the monkeys too. High angle shot of Gibraltar. Various shots of crowds waving as the royal family leaves Malta. L/S of the harbour, Britannia leaves Malta.
