Dylan is only half right, the people on the top may both be corrupt, but the difference between them and UBCS is the people that serve under it. Members of BSAA and DSO genuinely cares for each other and want to save people's lives. Members of the BSAA and DSO would never carry out the order that was given to Dylan, Dylan was upset because he couldn't forgive himself for being a coward, he didn't have the guts to disobey the order and he blames other people for that.

Also, what I meant to say is they made the spotlight centered on Jill & Leon most of the time, which makes the rest feel like side characters, not to mention they kind of nerfed Chris a lot. It's like they could actually make the movie with just Jill-Leon duo but still bothered to cast the minor three-at least that's how they look like in this-anyway. But based on some plot summaries I recall reading... *(maybe considered a spoiler)* ...the virus strain that Dylan manufactured was specifically designed to be non-transmissible, once it turns the first person into a zombie. That way, the damage cannot spread far beyond the immediate vicinities of the Patient Zeros.

Playing God still strikes a lot of terror Dylan. The definition of terrorism is pretty much inflicting violence and fear for political, religious or ideological gain. And why did you do this? Ideological gain. Terrorist fits nicely. But the thing that is the most horrifying about Dylan I think is how his PTSD manifests. The banging of his cane, the russian roulette, the look of AGONY on his face. I think more than any villain thus far Leon and Chris would sympathize with Dylan. If he weren't a scumbag trying to kill them. Dylan is like the polar opposite of our core 5 protagonists in how he turned out. They all came out of the same fire; the destruction of Racoon City by Umbrella and the incident in the Arklay Mountains outside Racoon City. Those twin fires brought them together as an unbeatable team. They couldn't survive any other way than to band together and FIGHT. But Dylan was all alone. Used up and thrown away. A broken umbrella. A shame he ended up that way really. Even a broken umbrella can still keep out some of the rain. Ask Carlos or Luis. This juxtaposition makes Death Island so much more elegant than Vendetta. Vendetta is just plain fun. But it doesn't have the deeper, somber backstory that makes Death Island so satisfying.

And let's not forget the BSAA's actions concerning covering up the Dulvy incident and using BOWs a few years later during the Village incident only proved Dylan's point about institutional corruption and how Chris and the others were only pawns of those in power. So, even though Dylan went about it the wrong way of trying to end corruption and greed by trying to carry out a twisted form of justice to atone for murdering his best friend unwillingly, he was still right in the end.

The movie was great and I loved seeing our heroes all together but the villain kinda fell flat at the last moment. The whole movie he was all "screw the rich and powerful" and at the last moment he kinda just went full genocide mode out of nowhere. Like, I get that they needed an excuse to kick his ass but CapCom knows better than to throw away a good villain. He made a really good point throughout the movie and the opening did a great job of setting up why he's a "bad" guy but then it tosses it all out the window when he just decides to indiscriminately massacre people. It would've been cooler to see him use his weapon on the same people he blames for what happened, then we have a moral debate of whether or not he was in the right. But shooty shooty bang bang with Resident Evil dream team is still awesome. Still, a lot of missed potential for a really deep villain.

I think Chris did consider Dylan's words when you think about what happens a few years later, seeing the BSAA covering up the Dulvy incident to protect their reputation and Chris becoming distrustful of them as a result until he and his Hound Wolf squad went rogue once it's shown that they became just another corrupt institution. Let's also consider that Dylan's words no doubt came back to haunt Chris once it was discovered the BSAA was using BOWs to fight bioterrorism, proving the man's point and showing that he's right in the end.

Honestly as bad as the story was,dylan was the best part,infact its safe to say hes the best cgi movie villain so far Not only hes the only villain with actual connection to RC/umbrella,but hes arguably the most self aware villain,like the way he roasted chris,leon and claire,im like dayumnnn ! I mean hes outta line..but hes right,i mean he might as well look at the cam and say "capcom this is pointless" 😅
