Welcome to BATAM Indonesia: FIRST IMPRESSIONS 🇮🇩

In this video, I share with you my first impressions of Batam, Indonesia. After spending a week or so in South Sumatra, I decided to fly to Batam and check out a new area in Indonesia and also because it is close to Singapore. My visa was expiring soon so I need to leave the country. From Batam, I can easily take a ferry and go to Singapore.

I Miss batam a lot. I used to live there for 6 months . In batam I lived in a house surrounded by beaches in Tanjung piayu. The ambience is totally unique, the people are good and mostly open minded. I miss batam so much 🥺❤️ if you're history geek, you should visit Vietnam Camp Nick, it's a must visit place

I used to live in batam for 10 years, you makes me missed this city even more. Dont forget visit Barelang Bridge and Vietnam Camp, is a camp left over from the war years ago, and for culinary dont forget to try Fish Head Curry and Fish Soup Ikan Istimewa near Nagoya is the best.

When you are at Batam, try to go to Nongsa - There are few resorts such as Turi Beach Resort, Nongsa Point Marina & Resort, and Taman Nongsa Indah Village. You will experience the Water Sport Acitivities at night there will be seafood BBQ and also you can see Singapore clearly from the resorts. Should come back for this!

Almost forgot, you must see Barelang Bridge because it’s the icon of Batam city. The bridge connects Batam island with several small islands. Go check them out..tell us how you feel about it!

The kids at the beach said that they are live in "pesantren". Pesantren means a islamic school that they allowed the students to live in it. They provide some dormitory for students. goodluck for your journey, nick!

I'm so exciting to see this video because it captured Batam where I live today. Yeah, a hot city in a small island with multi local ethnic. Yeah, it's not as beautiful as Bali or Samosir Island or Yogyakarta but the island is a grown industrial city and little bit expensive than other region. You can see diversity of race, religion living in harmony.

I was there few months ago and i stayed there at Turi Resort. Really miss the ambience of that place. Only thing is the nearest shopping is around 50 mins from there. Other than that, the people were very friendly and nice. Love them..
