Located in the heart of Jacksonville, Florida, Edward Waters College is Florida's oldest Black institution of higher learning, an HBCU (Historically Black College or University.) Founded in 1866, EWC's pillars are based in the Academic, Spiritual, and Physical traditions. EWC is not only the home of the Tigers and Lady Tigers, but is also home to nearly 1000 students. EWC offers 8 undergraduate programs, with 17 areas of concentration. The flagship program, Criminal Justice, is the largest enrolled major. Our men's and women's sports programs compete in Division 1 of the National Association of Interecollegiate Sports. There are more than 10 recognized student clubs and organizations.
