Hello, Thanks for the comment and I found this property after months and months of looking and there so hard to find nice properties with land and not too far from a village with shops and amenities. My property is located in the Heute Vienne around 50mins drive from Limoges Airport. My KZbin channel is about building equity by hard work. Hopefully I will be uploading a video towards the end of February 2024 putting my house up for sale and showing where the work has progressed too. So keep your eyes open for that video as I will have been here a year then Alistair

Thanks for the reply. First time I've had a reply from a KZbin star! I'm a carpenter, living in south west UK at the moment but thinking seriously about buying something in the north of France to restore. Can't afford to buy anything in this country but in France it seems possible. I'm inspired by what you're doing, well done!

Hi, Originally I looked at Northern France although there the prices are higher due to the proximity to the ferry ports. Another thing to consider is the weather as Britany is very similar to the UK. Realistically from Cean Ferry port to the Crozon Peninsula which is the furthest point west in Britany it’s around a 5 hour drive. So what I did was say well if I go west 5 hours might as well go south 5 hours and far better weather. And that’s exactly what I did. Property prices are far cheaper and definitely less people and no traffic jams.

Hello Alistair Where did you find your second hand kitchen?

Depending where you are the UK or France then generally it costs the average person to have an old kitchen removed. Be it by the builder or kitchen fitter etc. Therefore in the past I have used, Gumtree, facebook and eBay where you will find people advertising their old kitchen. Realistically though you need to look for adverts that have been posted a while and are close to the new kitchen coming to get the best deal. Then ideally get it for free which I have done in the past but had to remove it. Having a van helps to transport it too. Also get a big kitchen is good and then use all the best bits in a smaller kitchen. Hopefully this answers your question although if there is anything specific just ask
