I lived there a looooooooong time ago! From 1986-1990.

Lived there from 1998-2015. Once considered an oasis in the middle of prince George's county, greenbelt was thought of as safe, nearly crime free, where mostly government employees lived. In the last 10 years I lived there, the bus route was extended throughout, linking all of the area to the subway. Turning Greenbelt into an instant satellite city of metro DC, and with that move, it became as crime infested as any other current metro. Last month I was there, an automatic weapon was discharged from the area behind that "town square " , I witnessed numerous fights, an ATM machine snatched, purse snatched, assault on an elderly lady, serious assault on a couple walking down the street, reports on robbery and a couple murders. I've wondered since I left, if the people there still talk about how wonderful it all is.

I've been living here almost my whole life and it's a really cute and nice community to live in! A lot of things are walkable and people are very nice!
