To answer your question at the beginning of the video, most Japanese rail crossings have four barriers, two on each side of the road. Of this isn't always the case, but most crossings have four. The mod was probably going for that, the barriers did close with that mod right? If so I'd suggest going with that one for more realism :)

If you have a random gap in between buildings, you should place a single tomb. I live on Okinawa, and that's sure what it looks like. Graves everywhere. Some are really cool to look at. The most interesting ones I've seen are right behind my house. They seem to have been built during WWII, then buried in dirt from disrepair. They dug them back out about 6 months ago.

I've been looking everywhere for videos like this! I'm learning how to build on Cities Skylines too and really want to make a Japanese city. I lived in Tokyo for a little under a year and would love to see the diverse range of neighborhoods! My favorite areas where Hibyia and Nakameguro!! I can't wait for the asset lists!!!
@ARTFXGaming4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the comment, yeah I will have the asset list coming soon and the mod list too, working on those atm. I'm wondering though, I have some collections which have waaaaay more items in it that I'm actually subscribed to, but they do fit the Japanese style. These collections are also pretty well organized by category and such, so I could just release those, saves me a lot of time making new collections.

I'm a bit late to the party but want to say this looks really good so far. I really enjoy a commentary as so many others don't have commentary. For small town rural inspirations, take a look at Tsuruoka in Yamagata prefecture , or Matsushima in Miyagi prefecture. I love the city of Tsuruoka, but it is a relatively flat. Matsushima on the othe hand it sandwiched right between coastline and mountains, and there are some great rail crossings there for pedestrians going up the mountain

Why is it, ever since my late Teens when I first became interested in Anime that I've always been fascinated with the idea of living in modern Japan? The development style, so much high density, everything so charmingly crammed into a mountainous island, rail everywhere, lovely simple but modern homes. So much character and history, the towns scream comfort and community. That said, I still have no real idea what Japanese society is really like, I've seen what I assume are more stereotypes.
