You know what? I enter a bus and i cant drive it, i enter a train or a tram and i cant drive that either. Solution to global warming is not billions of cars. Its public transport.
@Lotschi Жыл бұрын
That what I als tel the people! Of public transport is fois enough you dont need any car-like vehicles.
@shawn4201 Жыл бұрын
Except public transportation only works on a grid that works in a region where everyone wants to go. What if you want to go out camping or boating? Public transportation doesn't address these types of travel. What if you want to go see a friend or relative that isn't local? Public transportation can only get you part of the way there. There is still a disconnect. Now taxis kind of bridged that gap and Uber and Lyft can help close that gap too. But by having your own vehicle or utilizing ride share transportation or rental transportation we can close that gap. The movement of people and things in the world is done through different levels. Eliminating cars isn't going to solve climate problems or transportation problems. Making them cleaner and more efficient and pairing them with clean and efficient last leg options (individual ownership, rentals, and ride share) that will always be the future.

U obv don't know the horrors of public transport, ya sure it's nice in other countries, like Japan where people actually respect each other. But in America. I dunno man. The solution is efficiency vehicles.
@philrichmond5919 Жыл бұрын
@@wovasteengova public transport in the USA is bad only because it’s been made that way. An advanced country is not one where the poor drive cars but one where the wealthy use public transportation. Take away the convenience of cars and people will return to public transport.

I bet Zoox if dropped off in any major city it would halt or crash within a KM. Tesla's with FSD in Beta drive around major cities every day with minor help. It is easy to say your prototype is the best thing on the planet hard to actually prove it.

@@jasondecourcy9611minor help? Tesla has crashed into concrete curbs, entered bus and bike lane and didn’t even stop before. The thing we need to be focusing more on is improving our road design to tackle traffic safety, currently roads in the US are meant for cars only which is very inefficient and bad.

Trash. Idk why anyone would buy something like this (unless it's a lot cheaper than a real car). This is something you sell to a city (like transit replacement).

Go look at the car; the main character of the "iRobot" movie has. That would be a lot more ideal than this transit looking trash box.

Even thou this is a good step forward to the future of transport. Convincing a large number of people to give up driving without relying on tech is still a ways off as well.

It's not a car, it's a horseless carriage. Y'know, why they were called "cars" to begin with. In northern europe they've called them "auto" or "biel", as in "automobile" which idk about you, but calling something an "auto" seems like a much easier linguistic switch

Level 5 on a small premapped, preprogrammed piece of road which is closed off from the public so absolutely nothing is different from their tiny high definition imagery data stuff. Don't get me wrong, cool vehicle, cool concept but it's nowhere near level 5 autonomy in the real world. This tech will be the future tho. People don't own a car anymore, but rent an autonomous vehicle. Why? Because it's way cheaper. Our cars do nothing 95+% of their "lifetime". So, renting your car would probably be 95% cheaper than owning it. What would you choose, renting or owning?
