@@lessworkmoretravel Actually my wife lives there at the moment, her company needed German speakers and pay a nice bonus for it. Her first apartment was directly across the street from Fat Harry's, she and another coworker moved in Feb. Now they share a 3 bedroom apartment that overlooks the curved jetty where you catch the boats for about 600 Euros each which also covers electricity and internet.

That sounds great. Just walked past Fat Harry’s. If you share apartments/accommodation it seems you can get some good deals. I was stupidly thinking that St Paul’s might be a bit quiet when I booked a hotel here, I was mistaken!!!

Because I have Malta on my top destination list, I subscribed to a newsletter weblink in Malta for updates on daily happenings over there. I noticed that a recent issue in Malta is power cut out that has been occuring for some time now and I am a bit confused. You see one major reason why I want to leave my country is because of erratic power supply but we have generators, solar panels and inverters as alternatives Please what is the state of electricity cut outs in Malta? Is the whole island highly affected? If yes, how are you coping? I read from other channels that due to the cut-outs, pipe-borne water supply is affected, food storage, waste is littered in high piles along certain streets, rodent invasion etc. Is your province or residential area without electricity for a while now? If yes, what are the energy options you people have transitioned to until the problem is resolved? Knowing how hard is it to raise money to travel for a better life elsewhere. The exchange rate and other factors, do you still recommend that we come to study or finally relocate to Malta or are there residences there that enjoy uninterrupted government-generated electricity come rain come shine And what is the average accomodation rent in those areas Pls reply I beg you. I want to hear from someone from Nigeria. Thank you

Hello, I would suggest you do a lot of research on the place before you decide. My video is only a travel vlog not a moving country vlog. I was there 6 months or so ago so have no idea about the power cuts. I have never really lived there. I would be going to forums such as Reddit for more detailed answers. Rent is fairly cheap but that is all relative upon your circumstances. All the best.

I can give you many reasons not to visit Malta in 2023 having just come back: 1. Like 1970's Spain, it is a noisy building site. You will be treated to the sound of piledrivers everywhere. 2. The traffic is horrendous. Many roads are also closed and under repair. There are too many vehicles using a crumbling infrastructure. The bus service is excellent but let down by traffic jams and drivers who cram as many passengers in as possible but refuse to switch the air con on. 3. For all its history very little effort is made to bring it to life. Valetta and Mdina are rather boring unless you like looking at beige walls all day long. 4. The Popeye Village film set was interesting - except it was closed for repairs. 5. Do not stay in the St Pauls Bay area, it is a dirty, noisy semi-slum. Try and stay on Gozo if you feel the need to visit. It at least has the charm you will not find in Malta. 6. Apart from going into churches there really is very little to do on Malta that you could not do in nicer places such as Greece. 7. The airport is way too small. You are likely to be standing for hours at a time. We were called to the gate 2 hours before the flight and there were no seats. I think that Malta needs to wake up or it will not get the repeat business it needs. It's all well and good giving residents free public transport and free healthcare alongside a top tax rate of 15%, but that does not pay for new roads. We will not be coming back, that's a certainty.

Hello Malcolm thank you for your detailed response and I agree with a lot of the points you made. I still really like the place, one of the main reasons I like it compared to where I am now (Eastern Europe) is the people. I found them incredibly friendly and welcoming. Having the Mediterranean Sea on your doorstep is rather nice aswell. The traffic can be a bit much and the buses are way too packed. I would not say that St Paul’s bay is a semi slum though. I am off to India at the end of the year, now that will have slums. Shame you didn’t enjoy it. Hope you have more luck on your next travel destination

I cannot share your negative assessment of Malta. Maybe they really were just in the wrong place. I have been to Malta several times and each time to Sliema. I had mostly positive experiences there. If you don't just stay on the promenades, but also walk through the small side streets, you will find many beautiful houses, small pubs and the original flair of this state. In contrast, St. Paul's Bay, with Buggiba and Qawra, stands as a faceless place that really doesn't differ from other Mediterranean states. I will definitely fly there again.
