In spite that everything this show described likely happened, I really don't think the overly-dramatic approach so common nowadays in every type of documental applies here, or is appreciated by the people attracted to the science of Mars rovers.

Very true - I think a lot of the people who direct the documentaries Nova puts out have the mindset that there HAS to be a lot of dramatic tension or the audience won't watch. Because apparently everyone in the world is dumb and likes Michael Bay movies. I can't help but compare modern Nova episodes to Cosmos with Carl Sagan - sure, the graphics and image quality is better now, but Cosmos was an awesome show, which proves you can make excellence, informative, and interesting documentaries without filling it with fluff and treating the audience like toddlers.
