WELCOME TO MOVING WEEK! Starting to Pack Up the Apartment Day 1!

Apply spackle which you can literally get from dollar tree or home depot, to the wall, if they are smooth walls you can just apply with a paint spatula which re super inexpensive at HD, if it's textured you can used a sea sponge while it's still wet to get the texture to match, and ask the apt for touch up paint , most management offices will give you small amounts to touch up the wall damage. I've done it tons of times on prior apartments. Saves so much in penalty charges.

For hanging clothes you can do that trask bag thing. Then you don't have to pack them. You'll just carry them over and hang them up in the new closet. If you're not familiar. You buy those big trash bages and pull it up from the bottom of the clothes a me d use the tie on the bag to close on the top of the hamger.

For necklaces, when moving, also do this when I travel. I thread one side through a straw and clasp them, plastic disposable straws work best so you can cut the straw down for shorter necklace chains.

For the walls definitely spackle, like others have said you can always ask management for a small paint sample and they usually will give it to you. Also when you leave do a quick cleaning/wipe down of everything and for the carpets sprinkle some arm and hammer pet deodorizer and keep windows open. When I pack and load the truck I usually do it by room and will load the the truck back to front with the order I want things brought in. Yes leaving the boxes open until your ready is the best works out so good. Oh the empty popsicle box mine does it with literally everything drives me nuts. Says it's a reminder that we need more 😂. I haven't packed a bag like that but I want to next move seems like a good idea. I'm that crazy person that will literally stay up and unpack the entire apartment that night . Idk why because there's literally no need to do it but I do.

Yay, moving vlogs! :) Yeah, moving stuff/housing stuff is so expensive! Today I bought 5 normal moving boxes, 5 more compact movingboxes, 2 bubble wrap things and a tape roller with two tape things and it costs me 35 euros. The boxes itself were 2-2,50 a piece allready. Not looking forward to buying all of the boxes we will need when we move next year, I will have to look out for a good deal on boxes when the time comes :( Edit: You are so right about the amount of things that we as human beings accumulate! We just decided to go through everything drawer by drawer during the next couple of months and the first drawers made such a difference allready!

Command hooks messed up my walls so bad. I ended up sanding them down and putting spackle on them. It was so tedious but helped me get more of my security deposit back.
