That's so cool that you live in Europe! I visited once and was amazed by how old buildings were and how many of them there were! Where I live if something is over a hundred years old it's considered special. 😂

Although I'm originally from back East, I have lived in Utah since 1998! We are in Ogden now ( GREAT historic district here). In the Spring of 2017, my husband and I spent a weekend in St. George and we LOVED IT! We got a pear soda at the General Store, toured homes, went on walks , and ate yummy food! Great town!!!!

This is interesting to see. I have had family here since its inception and have memories of staying with family, waking up and seeing the temple out their kitchen window in the 1970's. It has grown so much!

Totally called it! From several of your posts, I was thinking you must live in central or southern Utah. I'm from Utah too. Originally from SLC. I've driven through St. George several times but only stayed in a motel there once. The A.C. didn't work and it was summer. 😅 That was an interesting experience. Fun to see some of the historic sites there.

🎉 St. George is a sweet little place.🎉 Fell in love with the delicious breakfast 🥞 at the 🐻Bear Paw Cafe driving 🚘 through from LA one year. 😋It had us dropping back over & again to check out more of the local sights. 🤩 Love the charming architecture & history. Beautiful desert terrain too. Even went back one year, so my bestie could run in their marathon🏃‍♂️. Friendly, family oriented folks. 😊Appreciated your tour. Learning about it from your perspective. Seeing how it has changed. 🎸Great guitar. All the art adds a cosmopolitan air to the tiny town. Enjoyed the antique & thrift shops. Lovely meeting your sis. 📷 Sweet photos! 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct) 📩ps Avoid visiting St. George in ☀️Summer or you may roast in the extreme heat🥵. (At least it's a dry heat👍). Spring seems more of an ideal time to stop by & explore.

Okay, finally had a moment to watch. I think it's really cool that you live by a historic area. I actually live about a half an hour's drive away from historic downtown Fredericksburg, VA. Pretty much every summer they have this competition called the Itty Bitty City where they post around 30 to 40 images of obscure things across the area in the newspaper, so I grew up visiting the area many times during the summer with my mom and siblings. Doesn't hurt that my mom has always been interested in historical markers and such. That lizard looked really cool! Those pictures your sister took of you looked great! Jane Austen cameo! 😂 That consignment store really IS fancy! My parents have really gotten into visiting consignment stores recently. My dad likes buying mini lighthouse statues to put on his shelf designed like a lighthouse, but he's gotten so many that they don't all fit on it. 😂 Keep being awesome yourself, Ellie!

That sounds so cool about Fredericksburg! The east coast probably has a lot more historic downtowns than out west. Also, I feel compelled to go to the Austen section of every library. I have to say hi to it. 😂 Also, that's so funny about the lighthouses not all fitting on a lighthouse shelf. 😂

Loved the tour -- thanks Ellie :) So much resonated: I love "Old Town" parts of cities (historic stuff, etc.). I live just a mile and a half from a wonderful carousel. It's always great to see old stuff (typically headed for town dump) repurposed into interesting art work. Some items are not necessarily pleasing to the eye and perhaps SHOULD go to the dump. This guitar was "cool." I also thrive on thrift stores and, like you, most of my stuff -- especially clothing -- has come from thrift stores so I don't even try to enter them in the Thrift Store talent contest. I'm just grateful to get some good wear out of them. Great photos ladies. My compliments to the model and the photographer. 🧡

I was born and raised in St. George. Went to school at Sunset Elementary Woodward 6th grade center Snow Canyon middle and Dixie High. I used to get breadsticks and cheese at the Judds store they had some really good breadsticks and cheese. I moved to the mid-west in the 02. I miss the weather there. Too much humidity here. Sure looks a lot different now than what I remember, but some things haven't changed.

8:53 The Music Man! I've been in a stage production of that. Was it a stage production or was a movie theater showing the old movie? The weather on the day you filmed this would probably be shorts and t-shirt weather up here in Minnesota where I live currently. 😂
@EllieDashwood
@EllieDashwood Жыл бұрын
I think it was an old movie! They have been running a series of showing movies from different decades every month. I’ve been wanting to go but forget always. 😂 Also, I’m 100% acclimatized to hot desert weather so anything below 60 degrees makes me cold. And honestly the 70s is questionable too. 😂
@faithful2thecall
@faithful2thecall Жыл бұрын
@@EllieDashwood I'm not a huge movie buff, but that was a good movie with Robert Preston, Shirley Jones, and a young Ron Howard. I'd probably forget too unless they were showing something I really wanted to see. 😂 That's a fair point about the weather, as your body acclimates to the climate you live in so when its abnormal it can definitely throw your body off. Warmer weather is definitely appealing, especially since it was 9 degrees here during the premiere, which is colder than usual for this time of year. 🥶 I stopped enjoying winter as much about the time I turned 16 other than wanting to have some snow for Christmas. No idea why that happened. 😝

St. George looks like a really cool and funky city. If I ever moved to Utah, I would want to live there. Salt Lake and Provo just seem too bland. Then again, I could be wrong. Anyway, I also heard from another KZbinr who lives in St. George that physical fitness is pretty big there as well...
@EllieDashwood

SLC has so much more to do and way more diversity in everything! I love St George but we are definitely limited. Though we have way better weather and hiking! I would agree physical fitness is pretty big here. One thing about Utah is it’s highly appearance based (SLC got named the vainest city in America. UT has one of the highest plastic surgery rates too. And there is definitely a “look” everyone is supposed to have.). Growing up here I thought that was normal until I went other places. Then I was like “Ohhhhhh, I live in an unusual little bubble.” 😂
