@@Alfakkin Now the government has ask residents to cut water use by 20%. Also asking people to replace their grass and offering to pay $2 for square footage if they replace the grass with drought tolerant plants. I replaced mine about 7 years ago with California Native plants which are thriving in the heat. I do have a backyard garden and I’m counting the gallons of water I’m using to water the containers. Also installed drip irrigation for the vegetable beds and fruit trees (about 10)

I'm in zone 8 and I found they don't mind a bit of shade and are ok with being out of full sun. I have a slightly shady corner (in a nonetheless south aspect garden) and other people I've met have had good fortune with positioning it there. My only problem is that my clematiis is rather taking over that entire corner. I've never seen a clematis so big!

Your garden is amazing. I am developing my small garden using "rooms" as you have to define different spaces and uses. My vegetables are growing amongst the flowers, or maybe the flowers are among the vegetables! It has to look pretty and function for flowers and food. Thanks for sharing Claus, regardless of the number of comments it's still good to add another into the hat. If i'm not mistaken the colour scheme seems to have been refined from last year with less contrast from alliums etc (but maybe i'm wrong and your a master at getting the timing right for different planting schemes to work together). After that tour i may just plant another magnolia! My first is yet to bloom Felix Jury should be a stunner
