A year in with my '22 Elantra N...and I still smile every time I drive it. I'm nearly 50, had dozens of cars (first being a '77 Plymouth Fury with a 318 ci, 4 barrel carb, same thing the Dukes of Hazzard used to jump) and can honestly say this is the most fun, competant car I've ever had.

Awesome! You have me beat on age, but my first car was older than yours ha ha. I had a 1972 Buick Skylark with a base 350 2 barrel. I put a 4 barrel carb on it, dual exhaust, a Sun tac on the steering wheel, converted it from column shift to a B&M floor shifter and put in a shift kit. Swapped the stock whitewalls and hubcaps to Buick rally wheels and white lettered radials. It was so much fun. I miss that car, but the Elantra N would not only out run it stop light to stop light, it’d literally run circles around the Skylark, it’s such an amazing handling car.

Love the channel, and the appropriate name change. Now all you need is a friend with a Kona N (I’m partial) and perhaps a Veloster N. Then you will have created an N super channel. This will be your niche. I’ll keep watching either way.

I definitely thought this was a new channel when I clicked haha. Totally agree with what you said about value for performance and it having the ability to be a family car and a fun car at the same time. I'm pretty worried about the future of Hyundai's prices though.. every company I have ever bought a product or subscription from that had low prices to start always raised them to match their competitors. The rebranding Hyundai and Kia have been doing the past couple years can't be cheap. I feel like they could be drawing people in with their low prices and then once the public opinion of Hyundai changes to be "on the same level as ..." They will start jacking up their prices and be another unaffordable brand. I still have faith in Hyundai, I'm just worried.. I've seen it happen too many times.

I figured there would be some confusion with the rebranding, so I’m glad you watched the video to see it’s just a name change. Very interesting perspective on Hyundai/KIA. And it’s 100% possible that’ll happen. I mean, it sort of started happening with the KIA Stinger - It went from low-40s to high 50s in just a few years. I hope, like you, that they continue to be a value brand, but time will tell. If that is the case, I’m glad I got in early with an Elantra N!

Hope it wont happen but I see the N brand going away just look at what they stopped making just to toss all their eggs into the EV basket I have a Kona N Im up there in years so Im keeping this one till I die.

So you don’t think they’ll use the N branding for future performance EVs, or are you just referring to future gas powered N cars going away?

I had the opportunity to purchase a Sonata N line, which has a version of the 8 speed dual clutch transmission. It has a very firm and snappy upshift under throttle. My Kona N doesn't have that same feel. Both are good, but the Sonata seems better shifting. Are the N with this transmission equipped with this hard shifting programing or do y'all think something is lacking in my Kona?

@@johntrabue2397 My Elantra N has VERY quick, snappy shifts. Much more so than the Sonata N Line I test drove.

Japanese used to make fun affordabe cars and theKorean make fridge on wheels cars. The role now seems reversed as the Japanese make dull, ugly expensive car e.g the new WRX is so ugly and expensiv. Te Korean just step up and build such hot, crazry and fun car and not burning off your pocket. Time to switch the brand for sure
