@@stevearrowood7430 I want to but I want to get my feet wet first with technician and hopefully get a good radio to learn on. Budget is a bit tight because got a little girl on the way in about 2 week and with a 2 year old now that gets into everything I have, I want to make sure I have everything for them first

@@stevearrowood7430 I agree. I was a tech and couldn't hear much of anything on those bands. A friend who has a huge array of antennas suggested that I study for a few days and take the general test. I DID and that opened up a whole new world! Bob KM6PAX

Congrats! I agree, go straight for your general. I did mine two weeks apart 👍

That was great, I felt like I was there! Thanks for lugging your gear around the halls so we could see what was going on (not to mention the fellow who built the attenuator for cell signals) 👍

Thanks Josh. Loved the broadcast! Came out great. Thanks for the interview of the 44net VPN. When we go live, we should get you and Dennis demoing to show off what it can bring to the Ham community and what it solves with network communications.

You're an amazing ambassador for amateur radio, Josh... I wish a channel like yours would've been around when I got my ticket but, then again, KZbin was still a few years in the future anyway! 73

Aw man, I was there Saturday and was hoping I’d spot you but somehow missed you! Great little convention. A lot of value packed into it. My 8 year old loved the electronic kit building, she has officially soldered!

When is it going to come back to the south bay, specifically San Jose or Santa Clara???

For better internet performance, streamers generally have multiple LTE modems going with different providers and they bond them with a service like Speedify.
@HamRadioCrashCourse3 ай бұрын
Sure. It doesn’t seem to matter in these conversations halls though. Too much attenuation.

I have a yagi. It operates on 10, 15, 20 and 40. I know that the optimum height is one half wave above ground. What about the height of this multi band antenna. I am most interested in 20 and 10 meters. I have a 40 Rohn tower. Another question? Dipoles are usually half wave. Wouldn't a full wave be better if you have the space?

Last year the hotel told me I got the last “convention rate room” at $130/night. Without the rate it would have been $930/night. Yikes.

Try SO4R for VHF contesting LOL talk about common mode to fight... You should visit the Central States VHF Conference one year, all things weak signal terrestrial and eme and satellite... not much for vendors but the talks cover a lot of interesting stuff, someone usually brings an EME setup to demo and maybe a rover will be there doing contacts beyond line of sight on VHF+

Hey man, the simplex repeater, the CSI radio, or the new ZUMspot compact are not the "icing on the cake" Lol! This new Transcoder board for M17, may be an Universal Transcoder device, with firmware and hardware I guess, will be a real Challenge! You must to record something about that dear Josh please! 73 budy God Bless you!

Speaking of chargers, I have two Stihl battery chargers (string trimmer and leaf blower) just a few feet from my FT-710. Makes no difference if they are plugged in or not.
