RE FAN RANT INCOMING! Unfortunately this isn't good news for us Resident Evil fans as the history of Hollywood RE films has been very inconsistent and a disrespectful punch to the fans. Now Constantine Film is dropping news of a brand new "Prequel" to Welcome To Raccoon City that will focus on the story from the game "Resident Evil Zero" following Billy Cohan. The new Netflix series is supposed to be a brand NEW story all together, with the main character being the daughter of James Marcus...this doesn't sound so good. What are your thoughts?

Success is simple. Convert the S.D. Perry novels to film. Also, there is a mountain of material from re 1 diaries and sub plots from the Trevors, Spencer, etc. We have like 15 re adaptations to video and all are trash. Can’t wait for the keeper’s diary to drop. No doubt it will be the best re to hit video. Hollyweird just doesn’t get it. It’s up to you guys to do re justice. Thank you

I think the problem with these recent RE movies and shows is that they try to be The Walking Dead with 1 or 2 RE monsters tossed in, which isn't at all what we want. Until they do something different than that, these projects will continue to fail and be hated. On a side note, I'm really looking forward to The Keepers Diary!

Easily the scariest file to read. That was a slow, horrific death and the poor bugger was pretty much aware for most of it. If they did a TV series, I’d do a prequel season before S.T.A.R.S. got involved and I’d have this be an episode in and of itself.

I would be totally fine with them doing a series that doesn't tell the story of the games however more raccoon city lore is like prime candidate for shooting a series man. You can cover the grizzly murders around the city and do a suspenseful detective show revolving around the raccoon city police department and it's demise. Those are the things we want to see. Something like.... DAVE. I'm telling you that would kill. We would love to see that back story and you could include cameo appearances from different stars members who died. I would pay money for that series. Unfortunately it will never happen.

Why is it that the only good RE live action we could've had (Arklay) gets shut down and the shittiest RE live action projects have no problem releasing??? I feel Arklay had the right idea. Same timeline, same universe, just seeing the mystery unravel by regular dude. They don't even have to throw in big named characters, maybe mentioned at the most and just see the outbreak unravel from the perspective of different people... kind of like RE: Outbreak.

I think they are doing something new because the creatives behind it do not really want to make an RE Netflix series. I have seen studios like Newline and Disney use existing IPs as a springboard to float projects that can not get funding standing on their own. It never lands with fans of franchises because it breaks the lore and doesn't draw in new audiences because the fresh ideas can't fully develop because the lore of the franchise arrests them. It's the worst of both worlds and it is mind boggling how pitches with this strategy still get greenlit. 🤯

They should stick close to lore but flesh out the characters and story to really work in a live action film and TV series. They should explain the STARS specialized police force and the rise of the Umbrella corporation and how it took over control of the government and enslaved the citizens of Racoon. History is literally repeating from WTRC and the Netflix series. The series is literally even copying the previous story's plot. At this point, it's not Live-Action that doesn't work with Resident Evil, it's Constantine Films! They've been behind every live-action adaption since the 2002 one. Fans:🧢 I can give 10 reasons why it failed: 1)Mixing RE 1 and RE 2 storyline into one. 2) Not enough enemies,bosses 3)Characterization not build up 4) No umbrella mentioning or introduction of umbrella employees 5) RE 1 takes place at the mansion, not the police station. 6) Ben bertolucci is a Raccoon city journalist reporter, not a conspiracy theorist. 7)The virus spreads through water and bites. 8)Barry Burton and Albert wesker were parts of the story. 9) Mr.X and Tyrant,Nemesis major threats of the series 10) No mentioning or introduction of Stars Bravo team. That's why I did not watch Resident Evil welcome to Raccoon City. The director was too full of it to even review the comics and video games. The Walking Dead was about the realism of a Survivor standpoint in the apocalypse. While Resident Evil was a survival horror action.

It's not that hard to get this right. All of the story is right there in the games but, instead they always want to put their own twist on it and make something separate. Every Resident Evil movie that came out I went out of my way to go to the theater and see them opening weekend but, this new one and the netflix series is getting passed up this time. Making them movies, at this point, is a fool's errand. The franchise needs to be a TV show, like Fargo. Each season follows a game: Season 1: Spencer Estate/Arklay Mountains Season 2: Raccoon City Season 3: Nemesis/Escape from Raccoon City 8 episodes per season, gives the story and characters more than enough time to marinate and develop. How goddamn difficult can this be?!

The best re film or adoption I've ever seen is on KZbin fan made short movies there's about 5 I think don't recall the channel but you guys can find it there's a short of Chris a short of Jill then a short from forest scene, for wesker and then inside mansion at start of game all amazing with next to no budget or a limited one and I have no doubt you guys will produce something for us fans that have been then since the beginning something we will love lets face it we need to stay true to what made the franchise so good for us the game story, not some crap adaption or something loosely based on a concept in the game, Hollywood give up you can't get it right 8 re movies and one Netflix series was enough to tell us that! The only good things were the CGI movies from Japan and obvious why? They follow the game STORY!!! I expected nothing and got something better than I thought and what I feel is the closest we will ever get to a movie about Resident Evil. I really liked Claire's part especially. Leon's casting and Jill's casting were interesting. I did not like Wesker's casting nor Ada's. Chris and Claire I think they did a really good job on though.

I'm fine with an original story. Problem is when they use re characters they're nothing like them. Outbreak was full of original characters set in the resident evil world. Just make it good. Though that is a hard ask for these people.

I showed that to my little cousin and she said wow that’s better than what Hollywood has come out with ( she watched me play the games read the books and cgi movies -sadly the resident evil that wouldn’t die with Alice - ( wasn’t the main role Mia jorhivic was the director husband ) because there’s no way that movie should’ve even been made into a trilogy - it went on to do another 3 movie (5-6 in total 🤦‍♂️)and (she )became an artist actually she drew --an awesome depiction of the beginning of resident evil two when you going through the street as Leon and it has it Claire running down the other street ( scenario B )and it was amazing I told her to put her artwork out there, but sometimes she’s too shy
