Have been lots of places and seen many beautiful sights...but "Little Rhody" is unique. Travel as much as you like, you'll not find anything quite like this place...beautiful Rhode Island.

You get used to the sights, you take it for granted. It's nice to see it from a different perspective to remind me how beautiful it is. I spent my childhood in Narragansett, (towers over the road on the beach for non locals) , is where I spent my childhood. I worked in Newport and now I work at Brown University. I am always amazed coming back home from a trip to see it from the plane. Best way to capture all the gorgeous coastline. Providence Waterfire would've been really cool in one of the shots. Love the video.

You live in Washington D.C? You have my condolences. Washington is nice to visit for three or four days to see the admittedly impressive architecture and maybe a bit of the nightlife(which is still quite sterile compared to NYC, Las Vegas, L.A.and Miami) but to live there? HELL NO! I'm from New York and I used to go to Rhode Island. Cute, quirky and beautiful state with by far the nicest people on the east coast. I live In Arizona now and while I do love it here because it's also a beautiful state, I do miss the east coast vibe. You're a very lucky girl to call the ocean state your home.

Richard Schiffman thanks so much Richard. Yes, my heart is home. New Englanders no nonsense folks but once they get to know you, you have a friend for life. I live 8 miles from D.C. worked there many years. Like working in a shark tank. It’s been a few years since I have driven that eight miles, for a weekend break we go West to Shenandoah mountains. If you live in the area and pay attention to what is really going on it doesn’t look the same to you, just a cold hearted dirty city. I do miss that ocean I can tell you. Walking the beach after a long stressful day is wonderful. The crime is low, as well, since anything goes on they close the bridges and you have no where to go Newport is on Aquidneck Island after all. Anyway sorry to rant. I hope these next couple of years go fast, I want out!

Richard Schiffman Richard thanks for the nice reply. I live 8 miles from D.C. in Northern VA. I have many swamp creatures living around me. 👀 Worked in D. C. many years. I could tell subway stories for years lol. Anyway I rarely go to D.C. now, maybe if my cousin bugs me to go to a play or something. When you know what is going on in those buildings you see it in a different light. The Metro Police, well you better have a hammer stuck in your head to have them help you. Another 15 to 20 minutes for an ambulance to show up if your lucky. They put on good show for tourists however. My husband is from Brooklyn, many folks living in Newport now are from NY. We have a similar accent and dark sense of humor so it works out. lol I love colonial buildings, the ocean, the fog horns and the people, independent, no nonsense, solid folks. Hope these next 2 years go fast. I want out!

I am making a new video and while I like to get as many areas as possible, I find it hard in certain towns to find something that people would know, i.e. some type of landmark to show where people would say "Hey, I know that place"
