Love your town! The Chicken Farm Art Centre was a terrific place to stay, shop, learn, make friends! We took in many sights, atmosphere, history, great food, arts and culture... all amazing! The famous Texan hospitality lives strong. Thank you from Canada.

My wife was stationed at Goodfellow for retraining and we liked San Angelo so much we got a house by the lake. With the military life we've lived in Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii and in Texas, in San Antonio and San Angelo. San Angelo is easily the best place we've lived and we can't wait to get back. The best thing about San Angelo is just as the vid says, the sense of community. Its amazing how genuinely nice the people are.

San Angelo Texas does need an interstate highway that go through or around the city. The population of San Angelo Texas is more than 100,000 people as of 2020 figure (estimated). Making it the major city. Texas Department of Transportation did planned to extend I-27 going south from Lubbock to Del Rio, including San Angelo, but no deal. They tried I-14 going through San Angelo, but at Brady, I-14 will go west-southwest with US-190 at I-10, between Fort Stockton and Sonora. I-14 will serve from Temple (Belton), Killeen, Fort Hood Military Facility, Copperas, Brady, and a few towns along the way on US-190. Maybe I-18 as of new, future interstate designations will work. I-18 does go west-northwest direction and it will share with US-87 and Texas state route 158, from junction of I-14 at Brady, going through San Angelo, going several small cities, and it will meet I-20 in Midland Texas. The total of I-18 is more than 150 miles in length, as their prediction. If I-27 does not go through San Angelo, but it will share with Texas state route 349 instead to Del Rio Texas, than there will be I-18. I-18 does go between I-14 and I-20 in west part of Texas.

M big brother lived there for years, moved there in 93 and died there in 2020. He was an artist and an electrician, he looked like country singer Allen Jackson, so he got a lot of attention. He wore a cowboy hat and it was signed by people but I don't remember all who. He was a hit with the ladies and he didn't have to go find trouble, trouble found him. I wish his life would have been easier but sometimes you make your own bed you have to sleep in it...as the saying goes, I should have visited him there but I'm still okay that I didn't.

I was told by Ryan Havalah to go to the Goodwill to get a mattress and other furniture but according to Burton Barry in his email to Havalah and others dated 9/16/05, ..."A function should be established to first see if the need can be met through donations before expending city funds. We are authorized to get the evacuees into apartments, buy or lease furniture-which ever makes most financial sense, purchase other household items such as silverware, dishes, etc.

I have copies of emails from Burton Barry that was written to other city officials about how I was not given the things that I needed even though FEMA directed San Angelo to provide for evacuees things that they needed which included mattress, beds, furniture and to provide transportation if an evacuee had on going medical needs...not the nearest state. San Angelo claimed to have 700 bed spaces but received only 114 according to Barry's emails. So where did the money go for all of those beds.

San Angelo do need one or even two interstate highways that go either through or around the city of more than 100,000 people, plus a Goodfellow Military Facility. There are I-18 and I-27. I-18 will be future interstate that go from I-20 in Midland to I-14 in Brady by sharing with TX-158 and US-87, and I-27 will extend to the south from Lubbock to Del Rio in Texas. If Texas officials say "NO" for extension of I-27 from Lubbock to Del Rio, than I-18 will do the job as of prediction of the new interstate, along with I-14. We already have 25 miles of I-14 shields has been put up along US-190 in 2017, from I-35 in Belton (Temple) to Copperas Cove (later Copperas). I-14 may extend near El Paso at the Fort Bliss Military Facility near the Texas/New Mexico State Line.

San Angelo Standard Times, 9/24/05 Fifteen buses filled with refugees who originally evacuated Houston were expected overnight from Lufkin. The buses, however, could contain more than the 400 people the state initially told the city to expect, said City Manager Harold Dominguez. Some 10 more buses had been expected from Beaumont, however, they were redirected Friday afternoon to Midland, Lown said. The redirection of the Beaumont buses leaves the city open to take more evacuees if needed.

I would like to know then, why the old OIL BARON HOUSE is still for sale at I believe 2.5, b/c I've been intersted in the possibility of buying it if I can negotiate down the price and find out if the hospitals are outstanding as is the food, entertainment...So far, it does not compete at all with my current, Santa Fe location, but it's cost of living would be cheaper, and better to buy now if you really believe the city's awaiting it's share of gold underneath...

I file a police report for theft of my ID since CIA claimed that I was assisted but I was in the FBOP in 2009 located in West Virginia. The police checked things out and the conclusion was it was a case of mistaken identity. When this was related back to CIA the director told me he was not going to assist me period and if I didn't like it sue him.

These are all 100% FEMA reimbursable. Further in email Barry writes, I envision is keeping Ryan (Havalah) in his current role coordinating housing and furnishings as he seems to already be building a good system Once we get the lease agreements ironed out, Ryan will probably have all he can handle until everyone is placed. The remaining 4, as I see as case workers. My best estimate is that we have 41 families comprising 115 individuals. We can divide these families between the 4.
@sandyhowell115512 жыл бұрын
You can check what I have reading by looking up the San Angelo Standard Times newspapers during that period. My complaints about the denial of services, bedding, handicap toilet and treatment by local orthopedic doctors as well as having to find my own apartment and purchase my own furniture cause San Angelo to retaliate against me. They claimed that I was not in Louisiana on the day that Rita struck...why would I be when former Governor Blanco to people with disabilities to evacuate.

San Angelo is fine. All it needs is to become a tree city usa city so that rain can come back. The more vegetation the more rain. Our weather back in the day between march and may brought lots of rain. It also needs a Alamo Drafthouse like in Austin or Movie Tavern in North Texas. Somebody needs to do something similar if they cant or wont come in. They need to bring back to the river Neff's amusement park and the old putt putt place.
@sandyhowell115512 жыл бұрын
San Angelo Standard Times, 9/24/05. After scrambling Friday to buy air mattresses and obtain more cots for the coliseum the city has enough bedding for about 680 evacuees. Why turn people away when you have room. I found another news paper article that read; John Decker 47, decided to board up his home and hunker down because he could not find a hotel room. "I've been calling all the way from here to Del Rio to Eagle Pass. I called as far as San Angelo.. They had room since they diverted buses
@lavindir1711 жыл бұрын
Oh and the shopping there is just fine. They have the stores like everywhere else thats worth going to. Everything there is like 10 to 15 minutes from EVERYWHERE!!! That alone is a gas saver. I have been almost all over Texas and the places I need to go are 45 min to 2 hours away. That means if I want to go shopping for anything I have to plan my money and day. I cant just go to HEB or the mall or Target or wherever and go home. Leave San angelo and go find out. IT SUCKS!!!!
@sandyhowell115512 жыл бұрын
The email continues with "we can divide these families between the 4 others in the mentoring program plus my assistant Carol. It will be their job to keep track of the families until they leave the assistance program. They will provide me with that I need to complete the FEMA paperwork." I did not receive the assistance that the 115 people received. I was not given a case worker. I was not given furniture or any of the excess supplies or materials that was donated.

The email was addressed to Michael Dane, Elizabeth Grindstaff David Neiswenter, Harold Dominguez and Mark Barta. It is a crime to know that a conspiracy to commit a crime if you have knowledge that a crime is about to take place and do nothing about it. So you see why they had to turn the tables on me.

The rules are that a person can only be assisted once a year. In this case if they helped what happened to years 2011 through 2012. Sounds like San Angelo has a different way to count years. I asked what was the address where the assistance was provided and the name of the utility company. CIA refused to provide that information to me
