Greetings Siming Lan, as an American senior (75) who is married 51+ years and counting, I don't want young advice on marriage and relations. However, I love your perspective on China, the culture, history, point of view, all that. I am programmed not to believe that your dear leader is benign, but I sure hope he is. I am willing to read and ponder all that you say. Blessings to you. May you live long in good health and loving family. Susan (wife of Denis)

What a privilege to be the second person to comment. You have the knowledge and cross cultural experience to promote better understanding between East and West, North and South. Many vloggers are uncomfortable to write on political stuffs. Some keep different channels for political vs non-political contents. Whatever your choice, you are well on your way, with your gifts of language, intelligence and rich cross cultural exposure.

Hi Andy, thank you for the encouraging words as well as the ones in other videos! It's a joy to see there are people who genuinely wants to see China for what it is, and for that I'm immensely grateful (reading your comments made my day :) If you have any topics you'd like me to make a video about, let me know/stay in touch via email/instagram/comments!

@@SimingLanThanks for taking the time to reply. In one of your videos, you wrote that you used to hate your own culture. This is a phenomenon faced by many from emerging economies, feeling inferior to a globally dominant Western culture and going through identity crisis of sorts. While most are able to remain grounded, some reacted by rejecting their own culture and become highly vulnerable to radicalisation against their own culture. I am sure many young Chinese who are studying or living abroad are going through a similar experience where mainstream media are pervasively anti-China. You are not only furthering a better understanding of China to foreigners but also to Chinese living and studying all over the world to remain proud of their culture. Learning to speak English like a native is important. Just as important is to remain anchored to your own culture to have the self-respect. Keep up your good work!

This was fun to watch. I only have one video on my channel. I have no equipment etc. so I am not sure how or where to start. The background with all the books is really nice. I love books on paper. I have to own them because I write all in the margins and make notes inside them. Have a Blessed Day

when finding your channel , I think that you are from Hong Kong or Malaysian Chinese because it's rare that Chinese channels are fluent in English and content that contains translations. My advice with your English maybe you can connect/influence between China and overseas 👍

@@freedloh9049 Even though I'm from Indonesia (neighboring Singapore) I don't know what leader Lee Kwan Yu did before. What I know now and I often do is look for information by watching KZbin channels of friends from mainland China and the problem is that many of the information channels from Chinese friends that are broadcast are not equipped with foreign language translations so we have trouble in meaning

Glad I found your channel. I spent a year teaching in Beijing around 2011. After living and working two decades in Japan, I found China overwhelming. Chinese society has advanced a lot even since then. Your views add greater context to what I experienced there.

Hi Siming, I can see that although you started small, your channel developed into quite an impressive sociopolitical commentary of world affairs, especially well reflecting on situation in China. I'm a lecturer in UK regularly traveling to China for teaching in our joint institute, and I'm also very much interested in these issues (sorry my youtube profile got taken over by my daughter as I never used it before... :)) Although it's going to be a busy summer for me, I'll try to go through all of your videos systematically, leaving comments here and there, and get in touch after, as I think we could have interesting and fruitful discussions on matters you discuss, perhaps leading to some innovative proposals that could have impact beyond KZbin. Bon courage and keep going! -Gedi

Okay, I watched 2 of your videos and am interested in hearing more of your thoughts. When I think of Eastern vs Western ideologies, I harken back to my own childhood when my heroes were Geronimo and a fictional Chinese martial artist Shang Chi. This of course is the little known Master of Kung Fu Marvel comic. Little did I know the story behind those stories. Had I known, perhaps I wouldn't have had the problems I did in my teenaged years. So, the story behind the stories was an anti-Asian writer named Arthur Ward (A.K.A. Sax Rohmer) who is best remembered for his series of novels featuring the criminal mastermind Dr. Fu Manchu. This brings me to my idea for your next video The Demonization of Asia in which you could use this example as well as other literary sources, especially newspapers during the 19th and 20th centuries. Strangely, I wasn't repelled by negative literature nor televised news about Asian countries, I was more fascinated on learning more about them. Thanks for reading

It's been over a year now since you put out your first Utube video, and I must say your content about your chinese culture, identity is quite fascinating to me😀I'm interested in knowing more about asian women, particularly I'm very attracted to healthy, petite Chinese fashion models in there 20s. I understand from other Utube channels that fashion clothing to buy began to become more popular in Hong Kong influenced by western capitalism. Could it be that kpop and jpop groups that have emerged during early millennial decades that are more popular in SK and Japan compared to less popular Chinese culture have brought about Chinese generation X and Z to explore more in doing fashion modeling? I notice now on many tiktok videos that there are many beautiful petite chinese fashion models showing off there healthy bodies more than SK and Japan models whom wear stunning and unique clothing outfits. In your opinion has the rise in Chinese fashion modeling stemmed from downfall in mainland cpop popularity compared to South Korea and Japan...or has the popularity in China for fashion modeling was the result of fashion designs, fashion clothing which started mostly in Hong Kong and spread through more popularity, more modernized big cities in China like Shanghai? I grew up most of my adult life in Las Vegas, born in Philippines, a retired semi-truck driver in America, I consider myself very healthy for someone my age, my height 5' 9" keep my body weight consistently between 180 to 185 pounds, I walk 2 miles 4 days a week for my cardio work out. I stay physically fit and I'm planning to explore Hong Kong or Shanghai this year to go sightseeing, shopping and actually see how chinese people express there fashion attire in popular areas known for fashion dressing, most of all I'd like to meet and greet a real petite china doll whose into fashion modeling? My favorite Chinese soup is Wor wanton soup, certainly I'll be hitting up several traditional chinese restaurants when I get there. No, I'm not interested with agencies that provide rental girls. Please, Id like to see you do a segment on the history of fashion modeling about China of course, young feminine ladies preferably centered around Hong Kong or Shanghai. Finally, your feedback, your opinion about foreigners dating chinese young ladies that are in China☺🙌☮
