Best ESO content hands down, every time I see you upload something I know it will be great. Skingrad will be my new daily writ spot, I have all the assistants so I dont need to go to a bank/merchant, I just pop my decon assistant and then the merchant and banker. This new place will make the crafting way faster !

I was very excited to discover the layout for the new crafting area. Especially paired with a general aesthetic that appeals more to me personally. Necrom is cool and all, but I tend to prefer a more traditional fantasy style.

The stables were located outside of Skingrad in TES IV as well, so they were probably just trying to copy the original design as much as possible. It also makes sense in terms of lore. If you're caring for a bunch of large animals that need tons of space to graze, why would you keep them inside a walled city? Thanks for the tour! Can't wait to actually play it when the new chapter releases

That's the Ascendant Lord Greatsword. It's unlocked by completing the Legacy of the Bretons storyline, High Isle MSQ + Firesong MSQ + Epiloque I believe.

Hey! I've come to watch your videos from time to time, because I very much enjoy how thorough and clear you can be. I'm a long time Final Fantasy XIV player who hasn't had any luck bidding on houses or staying up to buy one during the time window long before the lottery was included. I unfortunately don't have much time anymore to play MMOs as I used to, but I'm curious of ESO, more specifically the housing scene. If I were to start, how difficult would it realistically be to obtain- for example -a home like this?

As an FFXIV vet, I know that pain. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a small cottage in Shirogane once, but I took a break from FFXIV and lost it. Serendipitously, this month, May 2024, ESO is actually giving away a manor home via daily login rewards. If you were to create an account and login on 3 separate days before the end of the month, you'd be able to unlock the Sword Singer's Redoubt player home for free. Now if Sword Singer's isn't your style, and you wanted a particular home that costs about 1 million gold, I'd say 3-6 months or so for a new player. It doesn't have to take that long - gold in ESO is easier to come by than gil in FFXIV but most players take some time to figure out a good revenue stream. When I started ESO it took me about a month to get my first home through normal gameplay. That was the Cyrodiilic Jungle House - smaller than the large home featured in this video, but it's roughly equivalent to a small/cottage sized home in FFXIV. There are also a number of player homes you can earn for free in ESO including 2 very large manor homes, the Hall of the Lunar Champion and Doomchar Plateau as well as 10, soon to be 11 inn rooms (roughly 1/3 the size of a private chamber in a FFXIV Free Company house). I also wanted to say thank you for watching - I hope this was helpful! In general, I've found ESO housing to be far more accessible and significantly more rewarding. I liked the neighborhood feel of FFXIV, but it's a bummer for anyone who can't get the house they want, and devastating for anyone who loses their home.

I wonder if the location of stables in Leyawiin and Skingrad match up with their placement in TES4.

According to another comment, the Skingrad location does! It does make sense to keep the stables outside I suppose, but from a gameplay standpoint it is annoying. Could always have the physical stables outside with a stablemaster and just have a 2nd stablemaster inside the city for training purposes.

No medium house in Skingrad? Biggest miss I've seen in years. Housing has to be THE most disappointing feature in ESO, for many reasons. But we need more smaller & medium homes, tired of huge and impossible to fill homes. BTW, amazing video as always! p.s. any music motif from Oblivion mixed in the music? (like in Vivec etc.)

I actually used some music from Creator Chords for this video. The in-game music for ESO is awesome, but not ideal for voiceover. I'm also not sure if there's music from OG Oblivion used in Gold Road, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had done that. (I just wouldn't recognize it)

Inn Room is fine, but they need to up the limit on them to 60 at least. I'd also like to see the gold houses not be in the same places as Inn Rooms, it doesn't feel worthwhile to get both when they are in the same place.

It certainly wouldn't take much. I'm finishing up my design for Journey's End Lodgings and even a bump to 40 would make a world of difference. But I agree, 60 would be my ideal for inn rooms.

Okay, okay, okay... Kalam0n acting like a Skingrad´s tourist guide? My like good man! Post edit 2: Okay. I got a headache with the map, but i understand that this is Skingrad centuries before Oblivion. 1. Cathedral location: Right place. City design: ok the Chathedral [south] Quarter is full built but the fancy North Oblivion Quarter is empty here. That´s okay, the city will grow in the future. 2. What the hell is that river there? In Obilvion there is a huge hollow like a canyon, the question is: Strid River is far south, and the north Skingrad is plain, Colovian Highlands are miles and miles away. Why that river? Where does that river originate? Odd thing! 3. Okay the Castle entrance is different, it is logic, the north quarter is empty, not problem with that. 4. Stable: right place and the out shrine is in the Oblivion's west roundabout. Not problem with that. 5. I disagree with you: TESO Skingrad interior design is just the style for it. The Skingrad's house in Oblivion is the FANCIEST AND EXPENSIVE in that game. It is the last house to buy in the game, cuz cost so much and decorated it cost more. To me the style is perfect. My dream come true: a house in Skingrad again. 6. My gosh that furniture is AMAZING! I WILL FALL INTO BANKRUPTCY THIS TIME. The empire style curtains will change all the housing style in TESO. Finally we got decent curtains for big houses. 7. I want to see the Skingrad Castle interior. In Oblivion it have secret corridors and caves. Like Anvil Castle in TESO. I love that for thieving. Cheydinhal is actually a part of the Cyrodiil PvP zone in ESO. As far as I can tell it is the same, but not located in the West Weald zone so you can't travel directly from Skingrad to Cheydinhal in ESO.

ESO needs to improve a few simple things for people that just love immersing themselves in the world during downtime. We need to be able to sleep in our beds. We need to be able to sit in chairs in taverns that look open but aren't sittable, because otherwise there's no reason to be in some rooms. Which makes the world that much less alive. We need non-opaque windows so we can look out at the world from inside buildings; even if it's faked like in water's edge for example. Opaque windows just suck. Spending time on features like House Tours is fine, that will be fun to see examples of what other players have built and furnished, but I was hoping for a fix to the above.

Why u do writs on pc? Gold is worthless on pc, its pointless. Switch to xbox much more worth it ,

The gold from the daily writs is, but on average the materials/surveys/master writs earned from daily writs are worth about 100k in total on PC-NA. I'll link the research if I can find it.

@@Kalam0n I would agree. I don't play PC but even on console the real gold from writs, to me it seems, is from the sellable items like master writs and gold mats.
