I see the number 100 and think "oh here's my evening entertainment for the night" *checks length* 3 mins?????
@ModernMouse6 ай бұрын
Think of it as the start of a journey rather than the destination. It's 3minytes now, but the whole series will end up being much greater than an evening's viewing.

This is an interesting idea for a show. I would recommend eventually covering Otomo's Akira and I would recommend Ghibli's The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. And something I am really curious what people think about is a little 2000's gem called Titan A.E.

Chicken little holds a special place in my heart. I will fully admit, I've only seen the movie once, in theaters back in 2005. But why it's so special to me, is that it was the very first film I ever saw in digital 3D. And words cannot express how magical of an experience that was for me. I had never seen anything like it before. Up to that point, I had only seen the old red-blue 3D, and it was always terrible. But finally, things were actually coming out of the screens. Obviously, after Avatar, digital 3D was everywhere, to the point where it jumped the shark. I watched so many movies in 3D, that I too got sick of it, and I now prefer to watch movies in regular "2D." But I'm sure when you first saw this 3D technology, for whatever movie, you were probably blown away by it too.
@ModernMouse6 ай бұрын
I don't know if I was blown away. I think the first digital 3-D film I saw was a re-release of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was interesting. I've done it a few times, but because I'm also someone who has visited a lot of theme parks, 3-D films have always been present and I couldn't tell you the last time I opted to see a film that way. Maybe the last was Toy Story 3. Regardless, that's a cool memory. Unfortunately, I already recorded the Chicken Little video so I already know it's score and....you'll see.

Hopefully some of Studio Ghibli’s films are featured in the list including the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata.

I'm sure we will get to some of those sooner than later

I would advocate for Wallace and Gromit in "The Wrong Trousers," as I never get tired of the evil penguin. If this isn't long enough of a feature to count, then perhaps "Curse of the Were Rabbit" as an alternative.

A few possible ideas for the animated 100: Atlantis the Lost Empire Wall.e The Black Cauldron The Iron Giant Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit Porko Rosso Frankenweenie Song of the Sea Secret of the Kelly Wolfwalkers Megamind Rango The Bellevue Triplets Raya and the Last Dragon Any of these would be awesome, but no pressure on a single one. (The Lion King is my favourite, but I felt like that one was going to be a given for the list so didn’t bring it up)
@ModernMouse6 ай бұрын
Some obvious ones but someone has to suggest them right?
@joeybaseball73526 ай бұрын
My favorite animated movie, and favorite movie in general is The Iron Giant. I wouldn't even be surprised if it tops this list when the dust settles. My other favorite are Toy Story, Toy Story 2, The Lion King, and Lady and the Tramp. Which I'm also certain they will all make the list pretty high as well. But I really love animated films. Even the ones that "critics" claim are terrible, I tend to enjoy them.

I've already recorded the Chicken Little video (and one other) and I'm going in trying to rate everything fairly. I'm already surprised so we will see where everything lands. I honestly have no idea.

@@ModernMouse yeah thats cool. Just wanted to get some thoughts on here. But I will definitely give Chicken Little a rewatch on the Disney plus, so I can give some opinion. I don't remember much, besides the obvious the sky is falling.
@ModernMouse6 ай бұрын
I'm like you. I hadn't seen the movie since it's original release and had mostly just used it as a punchline in videos. Having watched it this past weekend, I definitely approached it more with a critical eye and now have more nuanced thoughts about it.

Zootopia will have to be on this List... Along with a lot of the 90's Disney... How to train your dragon from DreamWorks would be a good candidate as well... So many great movies... And Chicken Little is not one of them... The first on the List and the first off it too };3
