I think one of the dangers of "genre shifting" such a memorable tune (or really any tune for that matter) is that you oversell it. But the subtlety of this arrangement and the stylistic decisions you made are fantastic and show an understanding of not only the original song but the nuances of country music. It's not too saucy and I'm left thinking "If I never heard the original I'd be sold this was a country song" - well done! :)
