Welcome To The End Of The World! - Ep. 50 Thula Sailing

Having arrived in Raroia, our first atoll of the Tuamotu island chain, we explore the unique atoll village Ngarumaoa and stick our heads into the blue waters behind the dry reef that offers the most fascinating animals a home. Together with a Dutch sailor family we head over to the easterly side of the atoll towing Gaston's self-built boat Temate behind, a very open local with his lovely family that had never stepped foot on a sailboat before.

Man it took me far too long to discover your channel and I must say it’s easily one of the finest sailing channels on KZbin yet. I’m still watching the northern Spain playlist but can hardly wait for the rest. I spent almost a year in the Basque Country when I was much much younger and will always ❤it there. Also - I love the fact you don’t spend a ridiculous amount of time walking your viewers through every single possible maintenance project and spend your time on the travel and sailing instead. Lastly, although I’m only currently sailing a smaller boat on the Great Lakes I have definite aspirations to someday acquire a Vindo. You’re very lucky to live aboard such a pretty little yacht 🙂

Diejenigen, die überleben, werden glaube ich meist durch das Salzwasser unter dem Riff weiter versorgt. Arten sind aber ja manchmal so spannend, wie sie sich an ihre Umgebung anpassen.

Great to hear from you! Yeah we miss the Tuamotu as well. We‘re back in the Marquesas now, soon heading off to Panama once our fridges are working again. Both gave up at the same time... Otherwise we’re still enjoying every day of life on the boat in FP here...just so amazing to be at. How‘s life back in OZ? What are your guys plans? And how’s the situation over there? Concerning garbage, it is a real issue on those islands honestly when more tourists and sailors visiting. Especially plastic which is poluting the seas over all. Just try to avoid plastic at all. Like we also do here in Germany. It is possible everywhere.

Beautiful videos but I can't stand this mania for spearfishing. Completely unnecessary. Humanity is just so unrelentingly destructive. Almost 8bn humans on the planet now, and growing - nature needs a break from our collective impact. How does your spearfishing for amusement help that??
