What were some tips for the DLC that you've found helpful?

After about 20 hrs in, getting benefits of the scadu tree blessings and applying them cannot be understated. It really is what makes the difference when feeling like you're getting punched around to hell. The map looks initially like its funneling you, but there is a lot more you can go around and explore that isn't the legacy dungeons that will get you those scadu tree blessing pick ups pretty quickly. So if stuff is just feeling like you are getting merc'd and you aren't doing enough damage, that is what I'd suggest focusing on over levels especially if your weapons you are using are mostly leveled. Also the little shadowy enemies in the overworld are super weak and usually die in 1-2 hits and make for easy rune grabs as you're running through an area and happen to be running past. Adds up pretty quick.

So far I've noticed a lot of stuff is either weak to fire or to frost damage, so if one doesn't work try the other. I haven't gotten further than a few bosses in tho

- Don't be afraid to cheese. I only beat the bosses with the help of my summons and resorting to using Moonveil. - There's an armor set you might appreciate spread out that seems to be scattered by the death birds, I've only found 2 pieces. - You can use all the walking mausoleums from the base game to duplicate DLC boss remembrances.

Don't really have any tips on what to do, but I know what not to do. Do not go into the DLC in NG+. This advice you do not need. Furthermore, highly recommend you stay as far away from reliance on incantations as you can. Most in the base game we're not worth it and that is also the case with the DLC. I am doing both of these, playing an incant frenzy flame build with Vyke's warspear in NG+. It's not great, it truly is quite awful. You can change the oil on your car in the time it takes to cast most incants and the DLC bosses are even more ferocious so it's not really viable. Anyways, great video! Will be fun to see how your experience with the DLC unfolds and sincerely hope you enjoy it!

@@fefino1411 incantations have the best buffs, heals, and the OP "pest threads" attack. While I don't recommend pure incant. builds, it's amazing with a sword or spear thrown in!

some tips about the expansion without spoilers, if you're feeling frustrated by the difficulty, it's because this expansion was made for characters level 150 and up, it's an expansion that takes into account you having finished the game and having explored the entire base game, making your character super powerful by killing bosses in 1 minute like in the videos out there, it is essential that you collect scatutree fragments to level up your character, they are spread across the map and increase your status, you can see a video of where all these fragments are on the starting map if you don't want to explore, because it's really essential to survive the bosses, so far I've killed 4 bosses alone without the help of spirits, but I'm pretty strong at level 165 and with 5 fragment upgrades

100% this. I've done two play sessions of the DLC now and my second one went SIGNIFICANTLY better than the first. Some things that helped (not spoilers): I really did need to level up (went in 129 with like 55 vigor, 55 dex, low endurance). Getting my endurance way up and my vigor and dex to 60 were super helpful - endurance is a must to increase your survivability in the DLC since things are crazy aggro (in my opinion, obviously people can disagree). Exploring around the beginning area more thoroughly before going to do more boss fights was also crazy helpful - do not sleep on the scadu fragments they're insanely important. They're basically how you level up your attacks and your defense. Also incase you're like me and were fighting with weapons that werent fully levelled, definitely fully level them (I went back to base game to get the bell bearings).

When i first spawned into the dlc i looked around n noticed an item behind up above me...that was my first plan to try n get that item and took me on my first adventure untill i finally found how to get it haha,im a fair way in now but still havnt figured out how to get to a couple of areas,but having a ball Tryna work shit out.

I'd be surprised if they patch/nerf any of it tbh. I would like to do the playthrough no summons, but if I find I'm just having a miserably hard time with it then I'll use summons! I'm not going to force myself for the sake of it if it means it's just no fun to watch/play

Wishing an insane amount of luck LOL. Also don't hesitate to take breaks between tough bosses! My little tip for this DLC would be to take an habit to go back to the NPC characters you've met, rest at site of grace, talk to them again, etc. They have questlines that are surprisingly connected to one another. It sort of reminds me of Ranni and her crew's questline, where you needed to often go back to Iji, Blaidd and Seluvis to get extra dialogues and advance it. A bit different to the standards quests of the base game who often feel disconnected from one another. Here, the multiple NPCs all know eachother because they're all following into Miquella's footsteps. Otherwise, explore for Scadutree fragments...*but* don't go too far either. Sure it's "open-world" to a degree, but due to the narrative and the NPCs involved, there's a pretty intended path to the game in my opinion and it's sort leading you into it. I think if you haven't got the map fragment for it, then don't explore it, that seems fair to me. Finally...Enjoy ^^

So I'm halfway through and looking at the other Elden Ring videos.... what's the continuity here? Isn't this the same character from your 2nd playthrough? Are the non DLC from a backlog?

I have one more part to upload in the Elden Ring second playthrough that will be the Mogh fight. That leads into the Elden Ring DLC. I’ll have one other video that shows time in Farum Azula. That happens between recording sessions one and two of the DLC (what will be episodes 2 and 3 of the DLC playlist). I start each those episodes with explanations of where I’m at and continuity so it should hopefully help clear things up. The first playthrough of Elden ring is unrelated to this one

BTW, loving the backhand blades. It almost seems like running attacks make you go faster. Since you're already barely wearing armor you might consider to push your weight to light roll. I think it works great with these. Also BTW BTW you can infuse them with anything you want.

Get rdy for that death count to sky rocket if u plan on doing no summons 😂 theres a boss who makes Melania look like a cake walk. 5000 deaths with no summons maybe more honestly and if u use summons maybe like 200 also heres a tip you can find Lavar tears which are to respec around random gravestone locations but they only appear at night time, they will not be there during the day.

Just fyi, the place you assumed you initially spawned in from on the map isn’t actually where you spawned in from (won’t say anymore than that you should find out yourself) you spawned in left of the grace

@@mentormachado4601 Thanks, I dont get why FS introduced the scadutree mechanic, its really innecesary and confusing. If they wanted to force players to explore, I think there are better ways to achieve that goal

I agree, they could have at least explained better the level up system in the game, and what the benefits of it are, this would make people go after them, instead of trying to kill a boss and die 20 times, in this video we see the lack of level, lack of fragments, and lack of weapon at +25, she didn't kill any boss she faced due to lack of damage​@@nacorcarmonablanco4414

The scadu fragments were popped into the game so everyone would start off on equal footing (Whether you're level 150 or level 300). If the fragments weren't there I guess NG+ would be melting things OR level 150 would just be blown out the water. At least that's my assumption for why they're there!

I have been looking at the game files, and unless I messed something, scadutree fragments are x0.05 players absorption and damage multipliers, so if there are 20 scads scattered around the map, players can reach a total of x2 absorption and damage. This is a huge difference, although it still doesnt make the game easy at all because of how insanely overtuned enemies are in SOTE (you will die in four hits instead of two against the main bosses, and some enemies can reach x16 base hp). Players base level in fact does matter, because the scads multipliers apply over them. It seems FS wanted to push players into exploring the map thoroughly instead of rushing to the boss fights. I find this design quite unintuitive and forced, but well, it is what it is. Nice to see you improving, you are now a real ER expert!
