Welcome to the moon, Oltréé & Watch (Rambling Review)

I've had Oltréé preordered for a few months now and it is actually more anticipated than a few Kickstarter titles that are on boats right now. Something about it really clicks for me.

Wow, would not have thought Welcome to the Moon or Watch would be that good. Having seen the title and box cover for WTtM, I wasn't interested at all thinking it was probably just a different setting with mechanics very similar to the original but it definitely sounds like it adds quite a lot! Thanks for bringing these to my attention. Will have to look further into them!

Thanks for watching! Yeah WttM surprised me as well, and I’m glad to get it some more, well deserved, attention. It is still welcome to in it’s core, but that is a solid core though.

Your are one of the fewer ones that like Watch that much! I have it too, but am not excited to play it yet because of so much negativity elsewhere :D You make me wanna play it more now :D

Who has been negative? 😢 It’s a super solid light/medium game, with a very interesting timing mechanism! It’s also a lot of game in a short time! Highly reccomend that you play, especially with 3-4 players!

How do you compare Welcome to the moon to regular Welcome to and "Welcome to Las Vegas"? I didn't really get to much into the Las Vegas one and wonder if I would like the Moon version or if it would be more similar to the Las Vegas one that I didn't really enjoy too much.

We haven’t played Las Vegas, so I cannot say anything about that, but it has many similarities to regular Welcome to. I feel like it’s still that at the core, but with different ideas and twists here and there to make each map interesting and different!

Have you played Fleet: The Dice Game? I got a copy recently and I'm shocked by how much I have playing it solo. Is Welcome to the Moon good solo?

How is Watch at different player counts?

I've played it at two and it was fun but it would definitely be better at 3 or 4. At two player, they add a dummy worker to block some spot and contend in the area majority.

to Oltree, do you have desicions to make that are not obvious? I mean could you go different ways and some are good and some are not so good? Or is it always obvious what the games wants you to do?

I would say yes, but they are not super deep or complex. It’s a lighter coop game, with lighter descisions :)
