I’m another who had Don Featherstone’s book on regular loan and entered the hobby as a result. I also remember buying the Airfix Infantry Combat Group as opposition to my Germans. Have subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos.

I had Donald Featherstone’s “War Games” on almost permanent loan from my local library as a child, as well as his Naval Wargames book. Started a love of wargaming, that I can now indulge a bit more in my retirement.

Subscribed. I have your early SCW rules and guide, a great boon when I first rekindled my interest in the conflict. I too had Donald Featherstone’s book on almost continuous loan, I was lucky enough to find it remaindered in the same library in the early 80s needless to say I snapped it up.

I am glad that your enjoyed my SCW book and that you subscribed to my KZbin channel. I wish that I had been able to buy the much-used copy of Donald Featherstone's book when Upminster library disposed of their copy.

Good stuff Bob. You might’ve been wargaming a long time but, for what it’s worth, you have a “young” voice. I’ve recently retired so I’m looking forward to increasing my gaming and hobby activity. I’ve just subscribed and look forward to watching more of your efforts. All the best. 😉

@@Wargaming_Miscellany Thanks. It’s relatively early days of retirement for me - at the moment I’m still just glad it’s “no work” 😉

@@geoffbarker3644, going by my experience, within a couple of months you'll wonder how you ever had any time for work!

@@Wargaming_Miscellany - for the first month or so I needed to do lots of gardening, but could rarely find a couple of days when it wasn’t either (a) Raining, or (b) still wet because of all the raining. However, the gardening is now mostly done, so the next job is to sort a carpenter/joiner to build some bookshelves for my library 📚

Hola.

I only wish that some of the wargamers who were around in the 1960s and 1970s could see how the hobby has developed since then ... and just how much we owed them.
