Is like the contrary of setting up ouchi with tai sabaki ! I was looking a good way to put osoto gari and this sensei credentials are very good.

John Saylor... heard a story of him grapple with Rorion and stalemate. Is that true Sensei Scott?

That is true. This took place back in the 1980's or very early 1990's. It was one of these "challenge matches" they were doing back then and putting it on VHS video. John held him with Kami Shiho Gatame and continued to hold him until the people doing the video work called a halt to it. Rorian didn't tap out and John didn't let him up. He just kept pinning him on his back. If that would have taken place in a judo match, John would have won by Ippon from the pin but since there was no rule for that, it would be called a draw. From what I understand, the video of that was never used. As I write this, if any BJJ people find this offensive, that's up to them so I'm not going to get into a debate on which is better Judo or BJJ. I remember John describing the match to me right after it happened.
