i love your book, and i have read a few chicken books. IMHO, this is the best book for backyard or pet chicken keepers out there, especially those not into all and only conventional commercial treatment of chickens in general (i have kept a LOT of chickens since 2012 and philosophically am very aligned with your approach)

Thank you for inspiring me to start my own flock and forgive myself after losing my first batch of chicks, I was devastated and thought I didn’t deserve to have chickens because I failed them… but you helped me see it’s not a success only journey and I truly admire your strength to be scared to death but to face your fears anyway. A quote by Marianne Williamson comes to me, “our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves , who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you not to be ! Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so others won’t feel insecure around you. As we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same, as we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others” thank you for liberating me from my fears by conquering yours.

I'm an author (fiction). Impostor syndrome is a real thing with authors. I know so many other writers who deal with it. Because we're perfectionists of our own work and never feel that it's truly "finished." We feel that everyone else will see the imperfections (whether they're real or not), and therefore we feel we'll never be "good enough." We compare ourselves to others, not thinking that they're feeling the same way about their own work. You are good enough! You wrote a whole book and got it accepted and published. Therefore... My son, not her husband my other son, told me that I have a chicken problem.🤣 Because I love my chickens so much, they're my little babies. I started keeping chickens about 7 years ago. I had a stroke about 2 and a half years ago . If I had not had my chickens to tend to, I would have set in my recliner and died. But knowing that they depended on me for life, I forced myself to go out and care for them. 3 times a day good and bad weather didn’t matter. I got past feeling sorry for myself and the first thing I did was build a new, larger and better coop. You’ve helped me so much along the way, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Ok, so you made me cry tears of relief and joy, I just started my chicken journey last summer. Stated with a dozen eggs and an incubator. I was so excited when I heard the chirps coming from the eggs….24 hours later, I was the Mom of two hens and four roosters. I was such a proud Moma….about 4 months later, I added 5 hens to my flock, and reformed two of my roosters….I still miss them. I am adding 10 hens this year…also thinking of letting my hens have babies…. I love the time I spend with my chickens. They ground me and I feel like all will be well in the world, as I sit with them….being a chicken Mama is a journey …

I just ordered your book after watching this video. I have no idea if I will learn anything but you are so kind and good to the chicken keepers of the world that I want to validate your hard work. The world needs more nonjudgmental cheerleaders in all subjects and what a fabulous ambassador the chicken world has in you. So glad you didn’t listen to that voice in your head. @@WelcometoChickenlandia and when I say, “I don’t know if I’ll learn anything” it’s because I’ve listening to your podcasts (newest to oldest…I’m on season two now) and I’ve seen many of your newer KZbin’s, I’m going back and starting from the beginning. I just finished watching your coop makeover. Cute before AND after. How fun to see how much you’ve grown and become so comfortable in front of the camera. Your boys are hysterical, mom of four boys here…all grown now…hence the need to nurture something new and enter chickens to fill that void. You are amazing, I’m sorry there are many negative keyboard warriors that bring you down. Please just say a prayer for them and then focus on the folks like me that enjoy your positive and encouraging teaching, you are having a significant influence on so many…heck, I just received Rescue Remedy in the mail today, a few weeks ago I had no clue what it was. Anyway, sorry this was so long, I know you’re a busy gal but on the off chance you come across this comment, I hope it catches you at a time when you need to receive that lil boost. I’m so glad that I have been following your channel for about a year and I’m enjoying my roosters crowing outside my bedroom window. Zeebo and Raven start crowing at 4am. I love my chickens and ducks. Thank you for providing education and encouragement in these difficult times. 😊
