This is a great little welder. It's also extremely compact so it take up very little space in the garage. Easy to make decent welds with fc. I find it easyer than stick. A 20 amp circuit would be ideal as I do trip my 15 amp if i get greedy with thicker steel and longer beads.

I have the Century version and its VERY handy.....throw it in the car and go weld something anywhere.

Does it come with two different Gallets (Idler gears)? One for .30 and one for .35, or does it come with a dual sided one? Also why doesn't the Amp/Volts chart show settings for 1/4 inch, when this video claims to be able to weld 1/4 inch (the chart goes up to 1/8, not even 3/16). Last question, is the ground and wire gun retractable from the machine, in other words can they be switched? Thanks

Thank you for the questions. The drive roll has a dual knurled 0.030/0.035 groove, so it's compatible with either sized wire. The owner's manual has a chart that shows the 90i FC can weld up to 1/8" single pass, and up to ¼” with multiple passes. The 90i FC has a fixed gun and work cables. If you need the option of changing polarity, we suggest the Weld-Pak 90i MIG. The leads on the 90i MIG can be switched. Can this welder hold larger spools than just the 1lb? Can it hold the 2lb spools?
@LincolnElectricRetailАй бұрын
No, only a 1 lb spool of flux-core wire will fit the 90i FC. More info about the 90i FC can be found here: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/90ifc/ Thanks for asking.

Is that all I need ir do I need a tank of gas? Never welded before buy I need something small for the house
@LincolnElectricRetail Жыл бұрын
No gas needed. It's a flux-cored welder. You will need to pick up a one-pound spool of flux-cored wire. The wire comes in different widths - .025, .030 and .035. To get started, maybe just get a spool of .030. Once you learn more about welding, you may want to try different sizes. Here's a link to show you info on the wire: www.homedepot.com/p/Lincoln-Electric-0-030-in-Innershield-NR211-MP-Flux-Core-Welding-Wire-for-Mild-Steel-Two-1-lb-Spools-K5365-23/321285645 Good luck and please write back if you have any more questions.

The video says 2lb. spool of wire but will this take a 2 lb. spool or only 1 lb.
@LincolnElectricRetail5 ай бұрын
Kenneth - it's a flux-core welder so it takes a 1 lb. spool of fc wire. Thanks for pointing out the error in the video!

Does this unit come with a spool of wire? Thank you
@LincolnElectricRetail Жыл бұрын
No, the Weld-Pak 90i FC does not come with wire. You will need to pick up a 1 pound spool of Innershield NR211-MP flux-core wire, either .030 or .035 wire diameter. For more info on the 90i FC, visit lincolnelectricretail.com/products/90ifc/.

Hello, can I use 10 lb flux core wire spools with this model? Thank you
@LincolnElectricRetail Жыл бұрын
Headbangrr, thanks for asking. The 90i FC is a portable machine that needs a one-pound wire spool. Your 10 pound spool will not fit.
@HEADBANGRR Жыл бұрын
@@LincolnElectricRetail okay. What about the 2 lb spool?
@LincolnElectricRetail Жыл бұрын
@@HEADBANGRR Yes, you will need a 4" spool of flux-core wire.

@@LincolnElectricRetail okay. I was just at a welding supply store a few minutes ago. The man at the counter told me you can definitely use 2 lb spools with this welder. 😎
