Welded a Differential 1983 Toyota Corolla 3SGE Beams KE70 AE72 AE86

The car has a 3sge Beams all stock. The differential is a 6.3 ring gear (SR5). I have only ran old bald crusty all seasons on the rear to avoid breaking an axle.
This footage is from last year, I just never got to editing it.

You guys are so lucky to have all those Toyotas down there still I live in Buffalo New York they're pretty much extinct down here there's not too many I saw one to my buddy I kept my original one I have for 20 years and a couple of my friends have them they're older ones with their Corollas is too much salt down here they rot and they junk them we need to save the Corollas we have to keep them together

Speedway motorsports sells a mini spool that replaces the spider gears and a full spool that replaces carrier for that diff. Good quality for a good price.

Yeah. It fits the Te axle.

How much power can AT series axle handle? I have won in my 1980 celeca turbo itbs standalone but open diff

@@doc_matter I say depends on tire size and aggressive clutch. If you’d drift in with stock axle I say 13 inch tires, you will never break em (or atleast when I had it)

Hey bro, so for my te72 my rearend makes some vibration/grind noise once I hit like 65 or if I’m on a long turn…. Open stock diff. Would that be diff or axles? Have you experienced that before? I was thinking of trying to rebuild it but not sure if it’s too far gone. Also possibly weld it if it’s trashed. Why not lol Any info appreciated thanks

Is that rear diff the same as the ae86 sr5? I'm looking to swap a 3sge. I can get a spool for my rear end. But idk if the gears and axle will be ok

Yes same diff, you will eventually snap an axle if you are drifting it

I'm going to say the SR5 coupe with two tone paint job but I'm going to go for the Griffith convertible conversion Wich is ultra rare and so 😎🆒. Of course I also love wagons having owned one before and one now if it had the wood panel siding it would be ultra cool I think Wich there were very few made.
