The drip was a dead give away but I didn't expect that much water to be in it. Great video my man

Excellent knowledge and demonstration, very well done. You said you were using a stainless-steel wire wheel? Are there any alternatives or is stainless the must-use? Also would there be a scenario of using a "patch" as in a separate sheet/piece of aluminum to fix a large hole/crack? One last question but is pulse/pulse an absolute must? I've been doing flux on mega marine industrial pieces and I'm trying to hone the aluminum skills. Your video has helped immensely, thank you very much!

If you use a carbon steel brush it will leave small iron deposits on the aluminum which will rust so stainless is a must. I've done patches on big holes, but usually the crack is so small you don't need a patch. Pulse on pulse is not a must but it sure is nice. It keeps everything nice and cool!

Good day to you sir ,may I ask what is the difference between Mig and Mag Welding?
@TVWeld2 жыл бұрын
There is no difference. MIG is an improper term because there is an active gas in CO-2 which is used in the shielding gas so they switched it to MAG. The AWS proper name is Gas Metal Arc Welding or GMAW but most people will know what your talking about if you call it MIG welding.

Do you prefer push pull gun over tig? Last person who repaired my boat used a spool gun got lack of fusion and had to end up redoing the whole top portion of my bass boat.

All day long. Lincoln 350 MP Power source with a python push pull gun. Best set up by far.

How do I fix my mistake of putting silicone on my cracked pontoon?
@TVWeld2 ай бұрын
Get as much off as you can. I'd wire wheel it, then cook it with a torch (don't melt the aluminum), then wire wheel it again. Weld it. If it looks contaminated, grind it off and re weld it. Do that as many times as it takes to get a good looking weld that is not contaminated.

Thanks. What do you think about mineral spirits?
@TVWeld2 ай бұрын
@@richardhendrix425 I've never tried mineral spirits.
